Well...we now have to wait and see... Again! BM was popular with the players in the short time he was with us, it could be difficult to get them motivated now.. After all, it's down to the players we are where we are so this new bloke needs then onside!

Personally I don't see too much wrong with this appointment - I was more bemused by McKinlay's appointment tbh. I don't think that the term 'sacked' that is being bandied around is entirely correct either - it seems he was offered his previous position of coach, refused it and walked. Pride dented most likely, but sacked - no.

I think new guy's credentials are actually the best we've seen in many a year, regardless of what people think of the standard of the Serbian league - the fact remains that he led Partizan Belgrade into Europe with a ridiculously large title-winning margin, that has to count for something... I guess I'm biased - I've long been an admirer of the technical skills of players from that part of the world & will be more than happy if he can get ours to play that way whilst retaining a bit of British grit...

Sacked - certainly. There is no law to say how long you have to be in a job before being removed from it counts as sacking. Being offered your former "lower" job back is certainly constructive dismissal. He was sacked. Secondly he was required to resign his Northern Ireland post in order to take up the Manager's job - are the Pozzos going to get him that job back? He has an excellent case for compensation.
The Pozzo's judgement in appointing someone and sacking him 8 days later has to be called into question. Awful is too higher praise for their action.

As for Partisan - he inherited a team already built by the man he replaced who left to become the Serbian Manager - who gets credit for building that squad. 18 months down the line they part company and the best he can do is remain unemployed until some time later he gets a job in Thailand - nobody can be given credit in terms of the English Championship from any achievement in Thailand. If he was any good then why did he not get a better job. Then he goes to Spain and is sacked after a few months.

I too admire the skills of former Julgosalvian area players - but we do not have them - he is manager not player.

As above - I bet OFH could win the Thai league picking an eleven from members of this forum :) (I was a fairly handy and fast left winger in my day :) )

I do think the main problem was giving BM the job on a permanent basis, where it probably should have been as a caretaker until they were happy with him in the role or prefer someone else. Then he could have gone back to a coach, and nto much would have been made of all this....

I think the fans will still get behind the new guy, just hope the players do too

This was our biggest export until the girl with pink hair finished and the producers got a rapper. One minute, that was Lazytown.

I think you should check your stats before making statements like that leo. Have a look at the results he achieved after taking over Partizan in the December of his first season - a remarkable turn around in anyone's book that led to the title. It matters little who assembled the squad, what's more important is what he achieved with them after replacing the previous coach. The following season, with his own squad, they were runaway winners.

Don't be too dismissive of the Thai league - the standard may be below that of the Championship but plenty of English managers/coaches have tried there and failed, whereas Jokanovic was at least successful.

We'll have to see but in reality its time to have a settled set up - yes we've done well so far this season but recent performances have shown the unrest I feel.

Whilst we did get 4 points from BMK's 2 games we weren't that great.

Mind you that doesn't mean he should have been treated as such I feel but that's football for you.

It's OK Yorkie, I have you down to get the old and infirm team members to believe that they are 20 years old and in peak condition. ;)

Re: inclusion in OFH's starting eleven in the Thai league

I feel I would be best employed bringing on the half-time oranges or perhaps testing the after-match beers.

I was going to add my thoughts, but BB has already said what I was thinking. Very sorry for BM, but the Pozzo's are only guilty of acting too soon, and once they lost confidence in their own decision they acted. If anyone doubts that they want promotion, then this should put them right.

What is so strange is not that the Pozzos have no confidence in BM, but that they appointed him in the first place - or is this the UK end of the operation anticipating wrongly. Was he given any sort of interview where his credentials were examined or his plans discussed?

OFH I would be more than happy to be the bucket man, I'll even be happy to bring my own sponge and bucket. All I'd need would be some cold water and a couple of injured players. A wet sponge down the front of a players shorts always used to work wonders. :emoticon-0104-surpr

In 1957 I was delivering newspapers around Bushey as a means of fueling my desire to be at the Vic for every game played there. The first I would have heard about the current upheaval would have been on Thursday when the West Herts Post came out.

It is less than 24 hours since the news broke and already there have been thousands of comments across the social networks. A changed world certainly, but sometimes I find that simply repeating what someone else has posted on Twatter rather boring.

A cold wet sponge down there would do little for me. :( These days I prefer something hot and steamy. ;)
