Beast of a list that, Dribs! <yikes>

1933 – Air France is inaugurated, after being formed by a merger of 5 French airlines.

1959 – U.S.S.R. probe Luna 3 transmits the first ever photographs of the far side of the Moon.

2003 – The govenor of California, Gray Davis, is recalled in favor of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Birthdays

1885 – Niels Bohr, Danish physicist and philosopher, Nobel Prize laureate (d. 1962)
1931 – Desmond Tutu, South African archbishop and activist, Nobel Prize laureate
1939 – Clive James, Australian television host and author
1939 – Harry Kroto, English chemist, Nobel Prize laureate [Discoverer of bucky balls!]
1957 – Jayne Torvill, English figure skater
1968 – Thom Yorke, English singer-songwriter and guitarist (Radiohead and Atoms for Peace)
1969 – Maria Whittaker, English model and actress [Bangers!]
1973 – Sami Hyypiä, Finnish footballer and manager [Boy, do we need someone like him now!]
1975 – Tim Minchin, English-Australian comedian, actor, and singer
1978 – Alesha Dixon, English singer-songwriter and dancer (Mis-Teeq)

***And, finally, the master of the macabre and the father of Gothic sub-culture, Edgar Allen Poe died today in 1849!***

Anyone caught a cold yet?? All clear here so far, touch wood. Was chatting to one of the trainers in my gym who was full of it last night though. Managed to deliberately keep a severe distance so we had to raise our voices and completed a thorough decontamination in the bathroom after.

Well, given your background, I'd be very surprised if you didn't like or appreciate Minchin's Storm poem!

As for Maria Whittaker. I find it hard to imagine a 'slag' you don't know, let alone one of her buxom eminence!

****. I'm lucky in that I don't work around loads of people in some almost purpose built breeding ground and I don't have kids to bring it home from school or anything.
