I think that is undoubtedly true for the majority, they do mean the individual. Some are a bit simple and actually do hate all Londoners for some unknown reason. Either way though, the perception outside of the North East is that the fans are a bit thick. Neither of Ashley/Pardew is even a ****ing cockney! So if I was Rob Lee, I'd think "FFS the only one you're insulting is me!" I realise the word cockney up here is used very loosely to describe anyone from London. I find that in itself a bit stupid but there you go. I don't like Dennis Wise, he's a cretin (not a cockney either). However we do seem intent on shooting ourselves in the foot here. Fans are entitled to their opinion, but that opinion does carry a bit more weight if it is actually thought out. Ours just seems a bit of unruly mob spouting anger filled hatred. Or at least that is how the noisy ones are getting the rest tarred.

I'd love a better owner and better manager. I'd love some better players and some English players (local lads even better) in the team to make it easier to relate to. I am always told we should be grateful to Ashley but I can't look at him like that. For all the good he's done, he has more than ****ed it up with the bad.

I just think we are going about it all wrong in making our feelings known.

Not with this manager mate. If he isn't gone soon (December and trial by Sky will probably see the end of him) we are in enormous ****.

Totally agree with you Mr T!

Isn't this a bit like saying that 'we're not cockneyist, we've got friends who are cockneys'? Bringing where he is from into it doesn't help and does harm the impression of the club elsewhere.

I don't know why we do it. If we are venting, surely we understand how it comes across if we drag the location into it? Worse still if the location is based on incorrect information! I've said many times I think these protests are ineffective. There is an argument for and against though. What I don't think is up for debate is whether bringing location etc into actually helps support the basis of the protest. It does not.

ACS is correct in what he says, Wise is insulting everyone by generalising about the fans. I don't think stooping to his level (which is low more ways than one) is the way to go.

@RedIssue : Keane gets Newcastle to a tee: "I always though they were an arrogant bunch, for a club that had won **** all."

Have never seen it put so simplistically well before

Well given the bloke is a complete **** I'm not surprised you agree with him. Twats like you and him stick together like fat thighs.

Given he is one of the most arrogant men to have walked the earth, you'd think he would have undertstood what it was.

I suppose he is bound to have some bitterness after Shearer made him look a royal clown at St James. Still one of the funniest sendings off of all time.

Being called arrogant by Roy Keane is a bit like being called a bad parent by Josef Fritzel, or a bad gardener by Fred West, or a bad dog owner by Roy Keane......

Dennis Wise is a cancer at any football club he has been at. He tried to put our club out of his business because we sacked him for punching his team mate and breaking his jaw

“I always had a bit of hassle against Newcastle. I’d been sent off twice up there. I’d had my battles with (Alan) Shearer and Rob Lee,” he writes.

“I always thought they were an arrogant bunch, for a club that had won f*** all. We always got decent results at St James’ Park; it wasn’t a bad place to play. But as for the Toon Army, the Geordies and the hostile reception – I never fell for all that crap.'

“It was the first time we’d beaten Newcastle at home in thirty-odd years. It was electric – the tension. (Djibril) Cisse scored, and Kieran (Richardson). The level of player we had now had gone up since I’d come to the club. We played really well. I think it was my happiest day at Sunderland.”
