Good to see you on here again mate!

I agree with you about Harry lifting the crowd. The atmosphere against Saints was indeed one of resignation before it even started.
Not sure I agree that he's unduly worried about money though. He's a multi-millionaire and whilst I'm sure he'll get a good contract, I'm not convinced money is his main motivation. I think Harry is a "football man" and will relish this challenge.
Also, I don't see the long term plan being affected by this appointment. Rigg is in place and there's no reason to think that any plans for an academy etc will be affected by Harry's arrival.

From all reports, Harry property business in in massive debt due to a building project in Southsea (Portsmouth) which has gone south. If rumours are to believe to get this project off the ground he put down his house in Sandbanks as collateral. If you don't know Sandbanks I memory serves me correct it's the third most expensive land per square metre in the world, behind Time Square and some where in Rio.

Your a twat and no-one cares what you have to say. Your posts are rubbish and full of angry bitterness. If I were ever to buy you a drink it would be a saucer of milk! Now then, tuck your claws away and **** off back to your own boring bored.

what a sad little idiot you are....I have said good things about qpr and im glad sparkey has gone with probably a big pay cheque, but my point is your chairman has jumped out of the pan into the fire with harry, who do you think he is the saviour that will do great things. England ignored him, spurs got rid of him and other clubs he has been incharge of would not touch him with a barge pole....He will have mastered a good deal that wont come cheap and now he is installed he wont give too hoots....He is money mad and if he can see an easy target he will try for it and so far everyone has ignored him...He has been lucky at a few clubs that have quality players and some fans think its all down to him....well you would be wrong as others would testify. there are far better young managers or potential managers out there who would have took the job for the right reasons but as some has said on here old harry is just topping up his off shore bank accounts and your chairman is the mug who will pay a hefty price for the privilege when a better manager would have built qpr even if he could not manage to keep you up....Big opportunity missed im afraid and its a shame...

I should apologise as well, I said I wasn't going to moan about Redknapp and I have, consistently and monotonously. Sorry, I just can't help myself.

To avoid rancour, this is not a criticism of those who originally supported Redknapp and have changed their minds. Think of it as a time capsule from just about 2 years ago. When the facts change any rational human changes their opinion.

I was wrong too. My dislike of Redknapp has always been primarily about personality, though I think he is an overrated coach, I did think he would be good enough for us and would at least try to play decent football and be able to motivate the players a bit.

No need to apologize, 'sb_73' .............. up until yesterday, l too have kept quite on Harry. I have supported him from day one but l simply can't ignore his fool-hardy comments to the media, his wallowing mood presentation in general, his blatant refusal to drop certain players 'cause he and them go too far back' and you don't drop someone just cause their form has dipped.

Somewhere along the line, he must take ownership for our poor standing. He can't continue to blame everyone and everything for our demise. Harry and the coaching staff, just like the players, need a swift kick up the backside and what about Hoddle ....................... WTF has he been doing since joining us??????

Writing newspaper columns in the Mail.
Seems like we have too many partly interested coaching staff and players.

Seems like only us die-hard fans are full time.

I wasn't on this board at that time & have only had time to look at the first & last pages of the thread.

What immediately stood out to me is the change in attitude of Peter Damage from then till now!

Well, I got it emphatically wrong - I'm not one of the last to call for his head! That in itself suggests a discontent that overrides my latent (often blind) optimism.

Interesting to see after all this time and I think, at the time, everyone thought there'd be motivational benefits and improvements in style with the appointment.

Me and Colly were still hard at it even back then <laugh>

Interesting thread you've dug up Stan. Very perceptive first post you made on Harry too. Also, to be fair to Flyer, he said "Harry don't do tactics".

The biggest turnaround is Damage. He's gone from trying to silence the dissenters to trying to silence the supporters!

The general theme I pick up from this thread is that Harry has failed to live up to expectations on a number of fronts.

But to be fair most had him as a short term fix. It was TFs error in not getting rid at the end of the 2012/13 season, when he'd failed to do what we paid him for.

Would say my attitude is fairly consistent. I said he was overrated then and I haven't changed that opinion.

I saw at the time mid-season a manager with a profile to come in and manage the big characters was needed and saw him as the candidate to do that. Purely a quick fix as we needed to stay up.

But he really was over-rated and by the January window if not before I began to realise how over rated he was.

But place this in context. Now one had a better idea at the time!! Because of the type of players at the club and our position in the league there weren't many other candidates queueing up that anyone was calling for.

It wasn't a mistake to hire him. It was a mistake to keep him after we were relegated.

I'll expect that when Adel has a good game for someone in 3-5 years time, then, we'll be able to dig out an old thread so some can say "Told You So"!!

I think I may have said that Green was crap a few years ago on another board. I might go find a link <ok>
