did you read my earlier thread and think... a thread on net spend hasn't been done in a while, that would be great!!

Net spend has **** all to do with the strength of our squad, it is the players in it, regardless of cost!!!

Clearly wasted 30odd years of your life as you would have been more suited to joining the prawn sandwhich brigade at OT.

Don't think we'll be playing 4-4-2 next season if I'm honest. Pardew has already said he wants to play Ben Arfa in the "Number 10" role. So I can see a 4-5-1/4-3-3 a la Chelsea under Mourinho.

If we don't sign a few strikers then the club is in trouble as the clubs league position is put at risk which means that the club could get relegated and any investment Ashley had put into the club is effectively wiped out with little to no chance of him ever making it back.

    The man is fat. He's a liar. He's not a ******.

There is still time to bring players in and that's likely to happen.

We have spent very little to date in this window but that doesn't mean we won't.

The right players in the right positions for the right price.

Dilly Dally? We've signed 4 players and the transfer window has opened TODAY! We're acting far quicker than in previous years. Take a deep breath, put the internet down for a while, and think things through properly.

spot on we need strikers. we have alot of midfielders barton, tiote, cabaye, marveaux, gutterez, guthrie, ben arfa, gosling. But we still get linked to midfielders for some reason.

That's the press linking us. The club have kept a tight rein on disclosing who they are interested in.

How do you know the foundations aren't set? Pardew has said he wants more in before the USA tour, sometimes these things take time. The transfer market opened outside the UK, from where are we doing most of our business? As has been stated many times Newcastle are looking to the continent for players, i.e outside of the UK

I hope Mod Face didn't give my £50 to the Spartans instead of the Alzheimers Research Fund.

We've sold two of our better players and have strenghtened a couple of positions using money from those transfers whilst still having a lot of money remaining to buy players, improve facilities and manage club debt.

Arsenal - Their best players are all being linked with moves away and their proposed replacements are no where near as good. Arsenal Holdings are going to fill their pockets.
Aston Villa - Have sold Young and Friedel, arguably their two best players but they have yet to buy anyone. Randy Lerner is filling his pockets.
Blackburn - Have sold their star defender Jones and have bought no one. Venky's are lining their pockets.
Bolton - They've lost a great striker in Elmander and have yet to replace him. Eddie Davies doesn't want to spend money.
Chelsea - Have sold a fringe player but despite claiming to have £60m to spend haven't brought a single player in! Roman Abramovich is filling his pockets.
Everton - Have sold a number of fringe players but haven't signed anyone. Bill Kenwright is filling his pockets.
Fulham - Have released six players, bought none. Mohamed Al-Fayed holding onto his fortune.
Liverpool - Have bought England superstar Jordan Henderson for £20m. Fenway are paving the way for a bright future for the club!
Man City - Haven't bought anyone despite having an unlimited transfer budget! <yikes>
Man Utd - Have spent £37m on two players (Young and Jones). Why can't we operate on crippling debt too?
Newcastle - Sold a good striker for a rediculous sum, have replaced a declining midfielder with a young French international, have signed another two promising French players, an International striker on a free and a winger for the academy. Mike Ashley is not wasting money on overrated ****e.
Norwich - Have spent just £7m on four players. Alan Bowkett is already making plans for his parachute payment.
QPR - Despite being uber-rich have spent nothing and have pledged just £12m to transfers. Gianni Paladini is going to sell Taraabt and fill his pockets.
Stoke - Despite qualifying for Europe, have spent nothing. Peter Coates is filling his pockets.
Sunderland - Sold a player for £20m, brought five players in for £12m. Boooo! Naill Quinn is filling his pockets (to make up for falling attendances).
Swansea - Have signed just one player. Huw Jenkins is resigned to going down and is saving money.
Tottenham - Sold O'Hara for £5m, brought Friedel in for free. Daniel Levy is filling his pockets.
West Brom - Have spent no money, made no money. Jeremy Pearce is... ummm... maintaining his pockets?
Wigan - Look set to lose their star player N'Zogbia but have not bought anyone. Dave Whelan is making space in his pockets in anticipation.
Wolves - Steve Morgan has spent £5m without making any money from sales. The man is a GOD!

It's JUST turned July, be patient and realise we have been the most active (and arguably most intelligent) in the transfer window so far. Moaning for the sake of moaning does no good to anyone.
