it is laughable that we ARE where we are in the table in spite of all this... bodes well if we get a half decent manager in..
No one should be hiring someone for such an important position in their company only to have them leave after 8 days. Whatever the reasons, that must be a failure of management at board level? Some reports he didn't have a contract signed, perhaps we won't get any compensation either!
Fair point - mind you contracts don't mean a lot in football! Must have been down to some kind of dispute. Like you suggest people have to make sure the manager is happy enough to join.
I'm not altogether surprised that he didn't have a contract signed. I doubt if these are negotiated quickly and he did have two matches to organise. It could be something simple like Fulham wondering whether to get him back then panicking when they saw he was about to sign a contract with us so they offered him a good deal - one he felt he couldn't refuse.
he didn't have a contract signed but he seemed positive on the SSN interview he did last week and up for the challenge..whatever has happened, he's going to get a pretty poor reception at the Fulham game! It all seems highly odd though! If the players are shocked, it must have been a very sudden decision, though they haven't been in for a couple of days. Back to training tomorrow!
Me too! No word from the club, yet. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...efuse_to_comment_on_McKinlay_departure_claim/
This happens all the time in Italy, every season someone will get sacked by a club and then go back to manage it later. This is because in Italy managers arent allowed to manage 2 clubs in the same season, so if you sack someone mid-season there's a limited pot of managers to choose from.
Don't forget that he was effectively a Garcia appointment, not a Pozzo one but they must have agreed.
His record at Catania this season is pretty dire though - 3 goals in 4 games, and 2 of those were against the bottom team...
