When I have posted a reply to something I sometimes add a Smiley, then when it appears on the thread the Smiley has disappeared, why? Enlightenment please?

    DMD Edit. Just trying something.

So you click the smiley icon, then more, then one of the smileys?

    Are you on Android?

I just checked, and when others post a smiley, I can see it if I quote their reply or go to edit it, but there's nothing at all showing on yours.

Can you try typing it in manually? If you type the greater than symbol then type laugh then the less than symbol, like this but without the dots <.laugh.>

    It should give <laugh>

Well, that worked for you, but I have no idea what it means in relation to them not working when you click the smileys.

Can I ask you to see how it goes until Wednesday, as I know the site owner's up to his eyes in things and is tweaking the site Tuesday night. It's possible your issue's part of the same thing and his hammering could resolve it.

Just a thought: when you click on 'Go Advanced' you open the second window. You have to click on the end of your text in the second window, then select your Smiley, in order to place your Smiley there......

I've steered away from anything that describes itself as advanced. <laugh>

It's very clean in this part of the site, I don't think many venture this deep do they? :bandit:
