This definitely needs its own thread now. And here's a nice stat for all of you, in our last 15 league games against Chelsea-City-United, we have won 0 of them, with 7 draws and 8 losses.

That's just one of many bad record stats we currently have against the top teams, the number of other bad stats are just too many to be named.

Yet despite this, there are some who still won't put their hands up and say enough is enough and it's time for change, persisting with the excuses, sad.

I think we have a very different team this year and last year to the one we had in the years preceding that. And as such I think it's mainly worth looking at our more recent results against the top sides.

It's definitely the key area we need to improve. We knew that last season too. P

I think we put in a much better performance against Everton and Chelsea away this season than last. Though only time will tell if we can get anything from the reverse fixtures.

It's a real shame we didn't have Ramsey for the Chelsea game tbh, I feel he would have buried the wilshere chance. Ifs and buts though. We need to improve our results against the big teams. I do feel lat night showed a step in the right direction though, it showed us setting up more defensively and looking to knock a goal on the counter rather than going gung-ho and leaving ourselves open to be destroyed. Unfortunately it didn't translate into the result we would have liked.

Oh, I also think this thread would of been a good idea if your last line wasn't such a wind up, obviously looking to start yet another argument.

    Most recent results:

    Chelsea=loss
    City=draw (home)

Nothing's changed, still can't win the big ones, even in seasons gone by with DIFFERENT teams we managed to usually draw the big sides at home, :). Last season is a good example of that, we drew Chelsea, City, and United all at home.

It's quite irrefutable that Wenger is not a top manager anymore, he hasn't been a top manager for quite sometime. His record against the top teams is frankly dreadful and he is not proactive enough to change things when things are not going well. I can understand the overwhelming support he get and I very much like Wenger too, I was really happy he won the FA cup. But I really wished that he retired after it, finishing on a winning note. I haven't seen enough from him for the past few years to suggest that he could take Arsenal to the next step and I haven't seen anything special after we've brought in two top world class players. He is an idealist and he doesn't realise that football has moved on, its constantly evolving. He is stuck in his dogmatic ways and resistant to change.

We took a risk with a relatively unknown manager before and reaped rewards, we have to be brave again and take that leap of faith with another manager. There is life after Arsene, like there is life after Fergie. I hope we change managers next season, I really hope we do for the sake of progress.

I always think it is interesting when Arsenal players (current & former) describe AW as a good/great coach. I agree that he is not a top manager as he seems unable or unwilling to change. Plan B is more of Plan A. I was sorry he extended his contract as I felt the FA Cup win would have been a good ending to his career.

I agree that he should have gone after the FA cup win .

he could have said " there , the stadium is done , ive laid the groundwork , theres the first silver ......now go get some more while i bow out. "

But no hes far too stubborn .

he will hang on and hang on , the decay will be there on show for all to see , and the FA cup will , instead ,be seen as just a fluke.

Yes, like any of us would do that? You do all the ground work and perform miracles and then you would drop it so someone else can do it? Of course he believes he can do this ... After all, he did manage to rebuild stadium and stay in top 4 all this time.

Lol at this thread being full of gloating about our losses and draws, laughing at some imaginary foe. Yet there isn't a single comment in this thread disagreeing that we need to improve in the big games lol

It's gotta be hard for young players trying to make it at a club with such negative fan support. I've critised Wengers lack of tactics but I always get behind the team when we need it.

There's too many guys on here obsessed with the negatives.

We have done poorly in the big games mainly for tactical reasons. We have a good side, some great players and play decent football.
Get behind the team you miserable ****wits.

    just stupid .

We are the only ones behind the team .

You lot are just behind Wenger , NOT
    Arsenal .

You dont want whats best for ARSENAL .

Just whats easiest for Arsene Wenger .

    Support Arsenal FC .

or Support an inept Arsene Wenger regardless of his shortcomings , blindly and without criticism.

    Which is it.

    It cant be both .

You know , there were similar calls for the continuing support of Moyes at united , even when it was clear as day he was out of his depth.

get behind the manager they kept saying , but some people refused to keep on supporting failure and he was replaced with a better manager .

Imagine if they had listened to the blind followers and kept him .

The only gloating yesterday was you lolling that Manunited were only one point ahead .

Till the end of our match , then you had to spin some other bollox about the ref costing us the game .

Then it was some other rubbish about how we are going forward despite dropping 4 places.

NO one is gloating about losing , you stiff . <doh>

But you will keep laughing about our " meltdowns " until we hit the mid table , out of everything stage of the season.

Its you people who praise a win at Villa to the heavens , and sweep all the sh1t stats under the carpet like they dont exist .

You are the real enemies of progress.

Why does Arsene need to improve , with sheep like you lot , and a new contract .

    Luvvly Jubbly .

we have said that for the last TWO seasons at least .

How long are we gonna have to keep saying it before the penny drops in your empty skull.

HE cant improve us against the big teams.

    HE dont know how.

    HE is past it.

Yeah players have it so tough... no-one else wants to do their job...

    Who on here doesn't?

I actually think it's an obsession with not wanting negatives being ignored.

    Yeah...

    Yeah...

    Hmm...

Said like a true miserable ****wit :)

That is the biggest crock of **** I've heard you say for a while, and you had already set the bar high with your BS accusations.

So tell us who exactly on here supports Wenger blindly and without any criticism ?
