The resurgence of the beard is clearly upon us and is gathering pace.

Why post this now Carmine I hear you ask? Well allow me to retort.

It was the game yesterday and the Palace players in particular that got me thinking, you could have been mistaken for thinking they had a Peter Sutcliffe impersonation competition going on.

Jedinak was my winner, just ahead of Leadley, or so I thought, and then their physio ran on!!!

    GT holy F.

From where I was sat it could have been TYR himself.

I'm no hipster so can't work out what the score is, is it a passing phase or will it last?

I'm growing a bastard in any case.

there was one of those long winded features on the BBC website last month on this , (today is about short men - !! ) .
In it they said the peak of this current beard trend has already passed , that when there are fewer and fewer beards Women find those men more attractive .
I grow a fairly long stubble as opposed to an actual beard as i suffer with a shaving rash on me neck if i try a close shave - though that itself also bugs me at about a quarter inch :/

Carmine won't let me join his Viking re-enactment group if I don't grow a beard.

I'm a man who has sported the old facial fur on many occasions.

I was once verbally abused on a night out in Sunderland, just outside the Vaux Brewery Tap, near the Police Station if you're interested, by a pissed young Mackem slip of a lass, with the shouted refrain "****ing hell, it's Peter Sutcliffe".

Rather inhibited my pulling power I thought at the time. I went straight home and shaved it off.

I shaved my last one off a few weeks ago when the Missus started to make amorous comparisons to the bloke off Bake Off.

I'm not prepared to be part of anyone's fantasies about bagettes rising, even if I'm married to them.

    I'm currently facially naked.

Roy Keane looks like he's a bottle of White Lightening away from a park bench.

    I've shaved mine off.

I'm sure they served a purpose evolutionarily speaking. Sutcliffe spoiled any hopes the beard had of being acceptable again. Macca is the only one that looks good with a beard but he's just dreamy full stop.

Roy Keane's beard makes him look like Gerry Adams. Yuck.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if he loses half his dinner in it.

I saw it on MOTD and I thought it looked horrific. The "Irish terrorist" look definitely isn't the way to go. The best beards are the braided ones because they make you look like a Viking berserker.
