Chelsea game we could make a statement and show we are back......... Hopefully Law of averages plays its part lol
It's a work in progress. I don't think any of us really believe we're there yet by any means but to now be in fourth spot while playing fairly average is ok. Considering the opposition we've played so far though it's exactly where we should be really. Anything less wouldn't be good enough.
RVP was anonymous again. He's basically being picked because he's Dutch. I think LVG dropped a clanger by selling Welbeck instead of RVP.
A bit unfair I'd say, we scored 3 goals away from home against a very good Leicester team. How does that show our attack isn't good? The fact they outscored us only showed up our poor defence. I also disagree about the "unusually poor Everton" comment. I think you've been disappointing this season. I only saw the first half and I thought we fully deserved the lead. Didn't see the second half but I can imagine you're right about us "hanging on". Seems to be the story of our season so far. But once again, that's not our attack, but moreso our defence being shown up there.
I saw the starting 11 and thought LVG had got it wrong. No need to start with both Falcao and RVP. If he does the same against Chelsea, I'd be very worried. Just hope our CBs are back for that game. Evans usually plays well against Chelsea. Him and Jones at the back I hope.
Finished with 2 kids at centre back. Everton are no mugs and obviously saw an opportunity to get at the young lads. Its something weve seen often so far this season. 2 or 3 under 20 year olds in defence. When rafael is our most experienced defender it shows how young the defence is. So teams feel confident they can break down the young defence. It will happen for a good while yet but each time they hold out teams will gain a little more respect for them and lose a little confidence against them.
You make some valid points but I've always said that when United had last season a s**t team even the poorest team looked good. That what happened last season, unfancied teams were coming to OT and were looking like world beaters , having their best match of the season so far. For me as long as every team that comes to OT gets labelled as s**t and poor, that means United have won and that'll do me. United for me is at 50% of its potential capacity in terms of efficiency. The defence is still weak and unreliable. De gea played a blinder today and saved 2 points or more . But then over the tears, how many times have we said that schmeichel or van dear Saar saved United ? A good GK is a building block. As the main attacking player, in Di Maria we have one of these players who can play against any team in the world and we have Blind and Falcao who can support him too. Falcao scoring is a burden off his back not that I thought he would struggle. All in all it looks promising. That is why the RS fans can feel the fear. They know that this united side isn't the definitive article yet. There is more to come.
Fair point. It's the manner we're hanging on by that's a concern. Once we can comfortably hold on...even at 2-1, then I think we'll have moved forward.
This. The dippers are back in freefall, while UTD are coming back from a crap season, the RS ont like it up um'
I think the silence on here from the dippers proves your point HRH. Not one single YSB has appeared on here so far
They're not a happy bunch this evening. It seems Falcao is **** and beating Everton was a **** result.
Have no idea how we played. Listened to the first half hour ish whilst en route to buy a car.. Trying to stay awake for the highlights. Suspect I will be asleep imminently.
Make no mistake, Everton these days are a tough side to beat. The 3 points were earned, this wasn't a walkover, and in fairness to Everton, they kept trying. To prevent the equaliser, our defence had to work hard, with all hands to the pumps. It wasn't pretty football, but through a bit of graft, that was impossible last year, we got the three points.
Manchester United have conceded seven penalties in the Premier League in 2014 - more than any other side
