I thought by that point Cahill should have been off the pitch which would have meant less attacking impetus for Chelsea and more importantly chambers shouldn't have been on a yellow card, had he not had a card hazard wouldn't of got through. We'd defended really well up until the goal.
feck me this is embarrassing. You embarrass us all with these sorts of excuses. just stop. just tell me how many shots we had . .............go on . Then you will see why we lost .
No arguments about the penalty at all, it was a clear foul in the box and it was well taken. Doesn't change any of what I said about the ref.
It's a good point to make. Nobody is making excuses, but you can't deny that it would have significantly changed the game had Cahill been sent off. Also I thought Chambers was a victim of the ref, as his booking came just after Cahill and the touchline spat. Basically the next foul was always going to be howled at by Chelsea fans, Chambers was unlucky to get booked.
was it the refs fault we couldnt even shoot. ? Only one man in the ground was to blame for that performance . and it wasnt the ref .
We're not talking about whether we could shoot, that's a different matter. Stick to the issue being discussed
No-one is claiming we only lost because of the ref... God some of you will just jump on anything you can to try and find an imaginary argument.
When you have to look at incidents where an opposing player should have been sent off, to justify why you could/should have won, then I really think that's a poor indictment of your own opinion of the team. You SHOULD have done enough to draw/win whether the player got sent off or not. That's not a wum, I would say the same if it was United.
I can't really be arsed to argue with those who want a spat between the whole rose tinted / doom monger divide. I don't really think that exists anyway, it's just used as an excuse to start an unnecessary argument. Some fans are more positive than others, that's natural. I don't see why it has to be all out war after every game. In a nutshell, we were okay today, but still came up short where it mattered. We have issues that still need to be addressed at Arsenal. I think we're moving in the right direction, but also I'm hugely frustrated with the same problems coming back to haunt us every season.
I don't disagee mate. I think we should be doing enough to win these games. We played okay today and there aren't many teams who will go to the bridge and dominate possession as we did. But again we were toothless when it mattered, it's an area that we have to change. I just think we need to be more direct and a bit braver, we might miss a few and a few balls might go astray, but the endless passing across the front of the box gets us nowhere.
I'd like to see more shots. Cazorla seems to be the only one willing to shoot from outside the box. And we seem to not be utilizing our FBs for crosses anymore. Granted that one is due to a lack of Giroud as Welbeck doesn't have hos aerial presence. I honestly think this match would have been better suited for Giroud than Welbeck since Chavski set up so deep
i was talking about our 2-0 defeat , what was you discussing ? guess we can all just go and laugh at the Spu........... oh....2 places above us now as well ..........damn
The specific issue of Cahill being lucky not to get sent off and then Chambers getting booked on the back of the heat that followed. Take your **** stirring spoon somewhere else if you want an argument
Your so stupid rofl. You must be on the wind up. You answer a point about one thing with an answer about something totally different which doesn't have a bearing on the original point raised. And you do this over and over, arguing with imaginary points. And then act like the other person is stupid for not somehow figuring out whatever crazy logic lead you to your reply.
There's a lot of talk about a holding midfielder, but I think your problem is similar to Liverpool's. You should have gone all out in the summer for a worldie striker. Kept Chelsea busy and given them something to worry about. Same thing against Spurs last week as well btw.
I do think we have found a good base for a 4141 with a Santi-Flamini-Wilshere base. Ozil isn't really up to par right now so I'd stock Oxo as RW with Sanchez LW. Plus with Theo and Gnabry due to be back there are options there. Also think a run of games would benefit Rosicky.
I agree we could use a real top, top striker. I think giroud would of been a better option today than Welbeck if he wasn't injured.
The 4141 works much better with ozil and Cazorla in the middle I think. Today we played a 433 with flamini, jack santi as the three.
