Just Literally 5 minutes ago, walked in the door with a book by John Fieldhouse - From Bust to Boom. Borrowed from a City supporter. Cost me a tray of chips & peas to be eaten at a bus stop on Spring Bank. Getting stuck into it now.!!!
I've read his David Ash trilogy, (Haunted, The Ghosts of Sleath and Ash) which were all great. Particularly Haunted!
"Blood Electric" by Kenji Siratori - if you can make it past page one you are in the Einsteinian stratosphere of intellectuals. Makes Joyce's "Finnegan's Wake" seem like " Noddy in Toytown"
I started reading the first Dexter book. Its pretty good, same exact story as the first season so far. I have heard that the subsequent books are different than the tv show.
Reading the Ben Hope books too (Scott Mariani), but also reading the third in the Mazerunner trilogy. The film for the first boom is out shortly and like to read a book of a film i want to see.
Ive a kindle and of the 50 or so books on there all but a couple are paid for. I don't get the clamour to download stuff. I quite like the looking/searching for a new book in a bookshop or on Amazon. Have found that when ive downloaded stuff in the past ive never got round to reading it. I wish when looking in a Waterstones you could walk away with your purchase saved onto a flash memory as have too many walls in my house cluttered with book shelves with books never to be read again.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mafia-Princ...qid=1406041155&sr=8-1&keywords=mafia princess Brilliant book and she is fit
Five chimneys:A woman survivors true story of Auschwitz by Olga Lengyel.........Not an easy read but a well written `put you there`essential read that should be inc into school ciriculum
I've found this a good site. Lots of new authors and some of the classics on there. http://www.free-ebooks.net/
On recommendation from Carmine a couple of weeks ago or so I bought Running With the Firm by James Brannon about Millwalls firm back in the day. I only started it tonight but haven't put my kindle down since! I've never read much into hooliganism but I think ill buy a couple more on payday, and this is a really good read.
Cheers, Chazz. My book of the summer is (not yet finished) "Queen of the South" by Arturo Perez-Reverte. My copy isn't new and I don't know where I got it from (charity shop or a mate of mine?) Absolutely cracking tale - gripping adventure of a Mexican lass who has to flee to Spain/Morocco, assassins on her trail. Smuggling and ne'er-do-well episodes. It's brilliant how he builds her character as time passes.
I've been reading some of Friedrich Nietzsche's writings online, and I've caved in and bought almost all of his major works. Can anyone tell which book I should read first? I've heard that you have to read them in a certain order to properly understand his philosophy.
