Sam Allardyce can become a West Ham legend, says QPR keeper Rob Green ROB GREEN has backed Sam Allardyce to win over the West Ham fans and become an Upton Park legend. By Tony Stenson / Published 5th October 2014 west ham, whufc, sam allardyce, irons, epl, bpl, premier league, sack race, football, football managers, trasnfer news, HE'S A KEEPER: Big Sam could be a Irons legend [GETTY] The QPR keeper, 34, goes up against his old club today having nothing but good words for a boss who is constantly under fire. Green believes West Ham at least know where there are going under Allardyce but it wasn't the same for him when Mark Hughes was QPR manager - a period he described as "a bit of a head scratcher". Green, who was a West Ham regular for six years, still has a soft spot for the club and likes what Allardyce is achieving. He said: "He has never been relegated, every team he has left in the top half of the league. "Look when he was at Bolton. You were watching Jay-Jay Okocha and Nicolas Anelka. You can reel them off. "He gets these guys and he gets them to play. That's what he does. "He gets the required job done at the time it is required. His record speaks for itself. Because of his larger-than-life personality and confidence I think he is simply an easy target. "I still keep in touch with some of the West Ham lads and. like everyone who has played there, I live and breathe the club. "Sam has acquired some very good players who have gelled well and quickly and shown what a threat they can be. "The manager is fully confident in his own ability and he has gone and got players who have shown what they can do. "The owners want to please the fans and sometimes realising supporters' expectations and getting results will be a double-edged sword." Green survived the mad, mad world of Hughes' reign and remains puzzled about why Sparky bought Brazil keeper Julio Cesar from Inter Milan. He said: "Julio is a fantastic goalkeeper and I have the utmost respect for him. "You go out, work hard and train every day. It wasn't his fault he signed. "He came with the best intentions and, nothing against him personally, but it was a difficult situation for me. "I had to crack on and I don't think that holding a grudge within a goalkeeping group like that helps anybody. "I can understand a club having a keeper who is 34 and another who is 24 for the sake of progression. But having two international goalkeepers of exactly the same age was a bit of a head scratcher."
I wish everyone would stop all this return to WHU love-in (Harry, Rio, Rob Green) and concentrate on how we are going to beat them.
Kiwi. Duplicating a thread is bad enough, but when you start reposting your own threads or something very similar to what you've posted 24 hours ago is a bit worrying. Calm down lad. http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...tion’-from-West-Ham-fans-on-Upton-Park-return
