I'd agree re other games, but thought he was a lot better today. Did a good job, and played his part in the win.

Diame scored the winning goal. After that they were inevitaby stretched at the end and we got them on the break.

Livermore gave the ball away several times, against better teams it will cost us. I don't care what he cost he will handicap us against better teams playing like this.

...and followed through with his positioning, in case Jelly had to lay it off.

Would it be any consolation if I told you that my back of U2.5 goals and a City win more than made up for your loss Ben?

He just doesn't seem to want the ball. He puts himself into places where he either can't receive the ball, or the player in possession could easily walk 5 spaces forward and get there himself.

I was sure it was Livermore, I guess I'll see on the telly tonight. Either way, he was great today. He did give the ball away a couple of times, but no more than anybody else did.

The stream I was watching played it 3 times, from different angles. It was Jake and he was in position to receive a pass if Jelly couldn't get through.

HDM and one other report I read (Independent?) have it as Livermore.

Watched on the internet and missed the last 1/4. But from what I saw Livermore did give the ball away too much.

Boring game, but, left with a warm feeling for the weekend after putting 3 points on the table and moving to 8th. Boosts the morale of the players, management team, and of course the supporters; it would have been a long two week international break without those 3 points.

As an aside, I have been cursing Mcgregor and Harper and all goalies past since I have been watching games on the internet for kicking the ball out when the ball is passed back to them as opposed to picking it up and moving to the edge of the box and then throwing or kicking it out. Just found out today that they changed the rule in 1992 (my City wilderness years) as a result of a boring world cup (actually thought that was pretty good-England did well in Italy???). My apologies to the coaching staff, Mac, Harper and the Jak. Just shows you how wrong and dumb you can be

Great result today, average performance against a really poor Palace side.

I thought we were too patient today. For long spells there was no real urgency from the team, even at 0-0.. As others have said, we gave the ball away far too often, it could have cost us too, Elmo's sloppy pass in the first 10 minutes or so which led to us conceding a free kick outside our box.. but for me Livermore was the main culprit, at least 5 or 6 times he gave the ball away in dangerous areas, his passing was not confident at all, under hit and misdirected. I admit he does do some of the dirty work in midfield and tracks back, but he was very sloppy today and has been poor/average all season.

Jelavic looks like one of our best players this season and seems to be better without Long. Hernandez looked a little lost, didnt really effect the game, hopefully he just needs time. Robertson looked great and grew into the game, I think he's a better wingback than he is full back. Diame had a good game, put in some decent tackles and looked a all round midfielder. For me though having Chester back in defence was massive. He just looks so calm and assured at the back and I think it was no coincidence that we kept a clean sheet with him back in the team. Dawson was quality, won every header and played a bit like Davies did for us last season.

Palace came to defend, got men behind the ball and tried to hit us on the break. If we played better today we could have really spanked them as I thought they were poor and offered next to nothing, they had 1 decent shot on target which Harper turned over the bar, and then once we were 2-0 up Chamakh I think it was almost scored with a header from a corner, but Rosie was on the far post and cleared it off the line. Other than that, they didnt threaten us at all.

Pleased with the result though, we were due a win and keeping a clean sheet is a bonus, just hoping that we dont give the ball away in the next 2 games as the better teams will punish us for it.

Don't talk ****. He was good all game. He wasn't as good as Diame, who was superb, but Jakey wasn't bad. Either your standards are too high or you don't understand how a midfield works. Pick one.

Livermore was basic today, he played a pass to Jelavic in acres of space not exactly Xavilike on a counter and apart from that gave the ball away. Yes donkey work is important etc etc but the amount of loose passes was shocking. We all know he is class as he proved it last year. But he just needs a couple of games on the bench methinks.

**** off you condescending ****. You're an ex goalie you know **** all about the other ten and after Kev Francis took you to task i doubt you know **** all about goal keeping.

Livermore was poor. Gave the ball constantly, always passed backwards and always looks for Hudd to take the responsibility off him.
