It is just so much more relaxing when we're not playing and just observing matches as a neutral. I see our game tomorrow is televised here, so I hope that doesn't put the kiss of death on it. Current scores:- Swansea 2 Newcastle 1 - Wayne Routledge (out almost man) just scored after Papiss Cisse (Pardew's goal scoring saviour) pulled one back. Leicester 2 Burnley 1 - Leicester trying to ensure that Burnley keep us company down at the bottom. Liverpool 2 WBA 1 - very nice Adam Lallana goal - playing alongside Ricky Lambert - maybe we should have signed a couple of strikers already familiar playing together. WBA playing well and just pulled a goal back after a penalty that appeared outside of the box. Henderson just scored again for Liverpool. Sunderland 2 Stoke 1 Hull 0 Palace 0
If results stay the same and presuming Everton are destined to climb a 3 point gap will open up between the bottom 3 and the rest, significant enough at this stage of the season
Papiss Cisse seems to be single-handedly saving Alan Pardew's bacon for the time being. Things will look a whole lot better if we can secure a win and 3 pts at West Ham - a tough task I fear. If Everton and West Ham win their games, ourselves, Burnley & Newcastle will be opening a gap to the 17th place "survivor" spot.
Aston Villa 0 Man City 0 - last 5 mins before HT was a shooting gallery for City, but they just couldn't score.
Was going to say exactly the same thing - Villa would really have earned the draw if they could have seen out the game. I hate to imagine the final scoreline if this Man City team had come knocking at Loftus Road.
You were right Col, I'm looking at the results of other teams. Already. What a miserable start. Back on track if we win tomorrow.
I find it worse. Further adrift albeit with a game in hand. Worse than that is that they all seem better than us! A win tomorrow will sort that. COYRssssss!!!
Without wishing to be pessimistic, I'm bracing myself for us to get an utter tonking tomorrow. Unless we show a long overdue change of spirit and some defensive steel, west ham are gonna rip us a new one. I pray I'm wrong but I've seen nothing this season to suggest otherwise
Seems a little harsh. A good win against Sunderland and the draw with Stoke both showed promise as did the fighting spirit against Southampton. I'm expecting us to turn up big time.
I'm concerned that, as usual, we'll be outgunned from the start and by time Harry changes things round to get it right the game will be over. We've seen it so many times last season and at the start of this season that you really do have to question what's going on. The Premier League is unforgiving, I hope I'm wrong but I fear more of the usual tomorrow...
That's what I'm afraid of - in the games I watched, despite their losses, WBA and Villa played quite well for the most part.
