Ref the post about Hull City´s name change I thought I´d throw this at ya being how there´s still 3 hours & 40 mins til K.O

So here´s the situation. You, as a fan of LCFC, MUST vote Monday whether to change our long standing name or keep it as it is. If you don´t vote you will be band from ever watching the foxes ever again & will have to become a fan of either Cov, sheep, the tree huggers or take a short step off a high cliff. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

i would be happy with just the "foxes" as it hs more of a chance of attracting international support, thing in terms of "the cubs" and "the redskins". i dont follow a name i follow my club as the as the name has a respectable link to the club or city not just picking a name out f thin air. i personally wouldn't care if top wanted to call us "the king Power Foxes". if it meant i had a club to follow. look at how many clubs live beyond their means would pompey have refused to be called the pirates or something similar for the funds to keep them going. i see this coming in the future if we are to compete on the world stage in terms of a league viewed globally rather than locally which is where most revenue now comes from and gives clubs in the pl the ability to attract the best of the world talent.

Leicester City or Leicester Fosse are acceptable, owt else then that person should be chased out of town. Seriously, I despise these americanisms that seem to be creeping into our game. <grr>:headbang:<steam>

you may hate "americanism" but its happening in all walks of life. and they know about branding. And if the pl is to compete in the global market place it will have to evolve. just look at cricket and the rise Indian Premier League which is shown around the world and now the launch of the Indian Super League for football .

From a commercial point of view why would Leicester Foxes or an other name make us more appealing and able to compete on a global stage than Leicester City FC?
Man U are commercially successful globally and they are MUFC. Surely it's the on pitch success & amount of trophies collected that generates revenue and the ability to attract players. It was discussed in the media pre season that failing to qualify for the Champions League would impact on the players ManU could attract, what they were called didn't come into it.
Neither ourselves or Hull would be signing Messi just because we changed our name!

Respect your points but my poll hasn´t got anything to do with making us more commercial or abling us to sign Messi, who will be going to jail anyway. It´s just a metaphorical Q on what your thoughts would be on a name using the NAMES in the poll. I.e we are City full stop or Leicester Fosse does have a nice ring to it or yeah I quite like the Foxes tbh, ect.

The Indian Super League will in no way, shape or form come anywhere near to competing with the European or South American leagues and teams aren't falling over themselves to rebrand!

Appreciated 1884 but kpnuts was making the point that it is something which would make a difference globally and I was curious why it would. I wouldn't object to one of the names on the list if there was a significant reason for the good of the club. Without a good reason, I'd vote to stay as we are.

Frankly, I'd vote for any name rather than support the chavs...<yikes>

We should embrace the culture of our owners ... and after today's performance 'Leicester Lady-Boys' is looking more of a possibility <whistle>

    Stay as we are.

By the way, what's a metaphorical Q? Sounds like a pretentious London night club! :emoticon-0110-tongu

I think what gets missed in the question, is that the root cause of the chairman's failed name change is nothing to do with raising income or profile, it's simply a petulant response to his failed dealings with the City Council.

I'd keep it the same but would have no problem if the owners wanted to call us the Leicester Foxes to "get us to the next level "financially" ".

They have funded this club into the premier league, don't think it would have happened under MM imo, so they can do what they want <ok>

I'd keep it the same - we already go to Thailand so the Leicester City name is already out there.

If the owners gave a good reason other then "because I own the club, **** you all" I might change my stance.
