Why do the people of the north east not vote for change. Sunderland has voted labour forever and is one of the worst cities in Europe but you get what you vote for and nothing ever changes. It's the same for most places in the country who vote labour theirs a culture of I don't want to work and theirs hardly no money around.

I'm bringing this up because of the stark contrast between my home town of shields and Windsor where I recently visited. Before anyone says Windsor is a major tourist attraction id like to point out that like a lot of other tory places it has small government and a big local community. All of the shops were open none were boarded up and they were all privately owned shops that were paying a good wage and doing really well. All of the streets were nice with no litter and everything looked clean. It's just opened my eyes because I'm normally stuck in the north east but in the tory heartlands its a different world and it's made me want to vote tory because it just looks more professionally run.

Sunderland one of the worst in Europe? You need travel a bit more.

As for comparing Sunderland with Windsor, its worse than comparing carts to hendo. They are further apart on the spectrum.

Why because I looked at houses in an estate agent and they were all for 1.5 million plus but you got loads of land with them.

I live in South Shields, I have said for years the Labour mafia here know fine well that the people of South Tyneside are too thick to vote for anyone else, so they do what they like as their jobs are secure. I've listened to people complaining about South Tyneside council & I've suggested that at the next election vote for someone else & I get the bog standard reply that they've always voted Labour & always will vote Labour, their dad's & grandad's voted Labour. So anyone in South Tyneside who wants change, has no chance!

I live in County Durham & it's been labour since the dinosaurs walked the earth.
What have they done for it?
Sweet **** all but let it rot, that's what.

We don't even get that ****er Jones around when there's an election on because he knows he has a safe seat.
That's the problem with the North East, they all have safe seats so dinnet give a ****.

Round my way you could stick a labour badge on a chimp & the thick ****s would vote it in.

That said, I'd never vote tory.
Hate the bastards & everything they stand for.

So labour do nowt because they know they are a safe seat. Tory's do nowt because labour have a safe seat. Lib dems sold out to get a bit of power in bed with the Tories and were at best a protest vote anyway. Ukip ate racist Tories. The greens live in cloud cuckoo land. There's only one thing for it, going for independence.

The North East is still suffering from the Thatcher TORY era who devastated the area for her own political ends..
One of the reasons why the South is prospering is because of the farcical differences with investment. for example, London and the South east have approximately £2,000 per person spent on transport annually where as in Sunderland and the North East it is about £5.00.
Labour on the whole have closed the gap between the rich and the poor where as the Tories take from those at the bottom and most vulnerable to the benefit of the the wealthy and powerful.
In my opinion, it is only the immoral who could vote for right wing capitalist parties such as the Tories and UKIP..

The mining industry in this country was destroyed by one person and one person only - Arthur Scargill. His outright communist views proved so unpopular that, according to MORI, more trade unionists voted for Thatcher than for Kinnock in the 1987 election! In the end, it proved cheaper to import coal from Germany and even Australia than to dig it out of the ground. The commies simply priced us out of the market.

The shipyards were fiddled out of existence by the E.U. quota system. When Panorama ran an hour-long expose on it, the E.U. offered Sunderland Town Council (as was) the choice of keeping the shipyards or receiving a large grant to attract and develop new industry into the area. Sunderland Town Council (predominantly Labour) voted to take the grant. That decision finished the shipyards, nothing else. (As a matter of fact, I think it was the right decision, as shipbuilding is in decline everywhere these days. But to blame the Tories or anyone else, is simply a pack of politically motivated lies).

It the carcogens from the crack filled rollies smoked by all those whores on every street curb in Sunderland that's polluting your atmosphere, one would swear that the £10 **** gobblers make up half your work force. They are the only ones that enjoy work.
