The BBC News Magazine often has something interesting. How about an 8 year old baboon who has found himself marooned on a Zambesi river island for the last 3 years..? Just been reading about it, and the bigger repercussions, in Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park:

ISISdon't give a **** they say they do it for religion and "for their people" but really it is about the killing and money. Another American will be next after they use the throw away line of " your government is to blame" crap.

My interest in pursuing a relationship is not down to fluid exchange (I mean, I'm a hetreosexual male so obviously there is at least some sexual desire towards women I find attractive), but mainly it's just the love aspect, the spending time together, the romantic walks along the beach, the picnics on the village green, the little text messages saying "I miss you xx", the going to places together, Comic Con or the museum, sat on a park bench while the world goes by..... or like the last scene in the film Bedazelled (unfortunately I can't find it) when Brendon Fraser and the girl he meets at the end are walking through the park and they're just walking slowly while the whole world speeds on around them, as if when they are together, time stands still because nothing else matters, the world, everyone else.... irrelevant. I always liked that scene. And the music in it is good too.

I don't generally care what people think about me nowadays, which is why I'm happy to induldge in geeky activities like cosplay, Quidditch, talking about how awesome Hufflepuff is and my excitement of attending the sorting ceremony, etc.

Although I do care if people think I'm a creep. Think I'm a dweeb or a geek, or an idiot, sure.... but not a creep.

You do know that this never happens for real. :)

Well OK, don't want to depress you. Yes, it happens once in a blue moon.

Oh PL. You're sounding self-pitying, and I can assure you there is nothing that will put people (girls) off more than that.

Agent Moustache is over at the moment - we had a good chat about this last night. When I'm on my actual computer tomorrow I'll tell you a story re IS that'll vaguely cheer people up (spoiler - they're actually a bit crap in certain situations).

Sorry, I meant that in a matter-of-fact way rather than a self-pittying way but I guess it's not easy to convey via text. Technically I myself have done three of those things in the past.

I wouldn't be envious of people who preach their relationship over Facebook!

OK, let me reword my post.

If you're genuinely interested in just getting to know her better, it'll come across. If you're mind is full of "the love aspect, the spending time together, the romantic walks along the beach, the picnics on the village green, the little text messages saying "I miss you xx", the going to places together, Comic Con or the museum, sat on a park bench while the world goes by....." it'll come across. Everything you think displays itself outside with body language and the words you say.

    So, just be interested.

And remember that worrying about what other people will think of you is just ego showing, so just talk to her like you would to any human being. No moves, no lines, just talk.

    Vin

PL you just need to stop being wet. I just want to warn you and everyone on here that from the moment you 'find' this person, I will sit in dread and terror of the day she dumps you. We'll be reading about your broken feelings for the next three years as a string of young ladies break your heart one after the other.

    Stop watching romcom movies

I may seem harsh, but its the truth and the sooner you realise it the sooner you'll be ok. I was such a sap when I was in my late teens and then I grew a pair. Despite what you read and see, women aren't all about chocolates and flowers.

Imagine its a game if football. If you keep playing the high pressing game, with pretty little passes that don't go forward, you might end up dominating possession, having all the ball and seemingly all the chance (when really you're just there but no chance really) and then some big hairy scrote comes in with a direct long punt and scores/steals your girl.

You need to be more Koeman can than Mopo.

But women also like chocolates and flowers...especially when they no longer get them<wah>

But fats is right...relax, act natural...you think too much. You have so little confidence that you are predicting disaster before you even speak to a girl. Be nice, be interested, but not desperate.

Hey PL, Fran has inadvertently hit on something else.... She admits that chocolates and flowers would be nice because she doesn't get them anymore.... THEY WANT SOMETHING THEY CAN'T HAVE EASILY!

PS. I'm not all answers. One day I'll say no to the wife; just once :)

Small gifts are best if they are a surprise...they have no value if you have to be reminded. 'Saw this and thought of you'....is a sure winner (unless 'this' is saucepan or a food mixer).

Only when in a relationship though Fran, not before date one!

*but, we (you) need a new sauce pan, you only said the other day our (your) one was old and needed replacing. I thought you'd be pleased*
