Taking my son, who is only 2, to his first of many, City game tomorrow. The past 5 mornings he has asked if it's football day as soon as he has woke up! Takes me back to the feeling of excitement that I felt, and still do, of my first game.
Just hope it's a day where supporters manage to get together, despite their views of the name change, and ensure Bruce and the boys know that the City faithful are behind them!

Your brave. It will be hard work because I don't think his attention will last for 90 minutes. I can understand you wanting your son to follow you and support City but do you not think he may be just a bit too young?

Not at all, attention span should last 30 mins I reckon, initially. Then with a few treats and a couple of laps around the con-course he will be ready for a sit down again. See I have game plan figured out!
In all my years as a City fan I have never left a game early, however if he is that fed up, then I may just have to do it. End of the day he will have enjoyed the atmosphere and I would like him to ask if he can go again, so will not force him to sit and put up with being miserable, I'd rather leave early knowing he has had a good time.

Doesn't show! Oh it's not full sentences etc, but believe me most kids can talk enough to be understood by 2.

Why ever not? It was better at Boothferry, they were free until you couldn't lift them over the turnstiles.

Or you was met at corner of the Old North stand, walked along the track, under the south stand and given seats in best stand......all for free as my old mans mate worked there as steward when he wasn't working for Freightliners!

And it's not daft, as long as he enjoys it what is harm?

There is no harm. It's a positive aspect of what the game has become when it's now so much easier to take toddlers than it was in the bad old days.

Absolutely. But come on even them bad old days were fun at the time, not that I'd have taken young kids to games then.

Without a doubt. I wouldn't have missed it for the world, but by the same token, I wouldn't want them back.

No, fair comment. Can you imagine handing over North or East stand now to Bradford City on the last game of the season just because they had been promoted!!!
