It's too early to judge QPR's quality, insists Harry Redknapp Wait and see: Redknapp has seen key signings sidelined Simon Johnson Published: 03 October 2014 Updated: 13:23, 03 October 2014 Harry Redknapp says itâs too early to judge Queens Park Rangersâs performances under him this season because of the number of injuries the squad have suffered. Redknapp returns to former club West Ham on Sunday with the team boasting just one win in their first six matches and sitting in the relegation zone. The 67-year-old, who still hasnât signed an extension to his contract that expires at the end of this season, feels fortune has not been on their side Redknapp spent over £30million on new players in the summer but said: âWe have been a little too open and teams are getting at our back four too easily. We need to tighten up but itâs been difficult because I have brought midfield players into the club and they have never been fit to play together at one time. âI havenât really seen Sandro on the pitch yet - I brought him in as a top player and heâs only played a little bit. Jordan Mutch has been injured, Leroy Fer is getting up to speed now and Iâm sure he will be a top player for us. âWe need those players fit. We just havenât been able to get a settled team and get them on the pitch together.â Redknapp also expressed his frustration over the prolonged absence of Joey Barton (hamstring) and Adel Taarabt (ankle), who has been linked once again with a move to AC Milan in January. He added: âJoey is another who has been injured for weeks and weeks now. âAdel hasnât even played. I donât think heâs been out on the training ground more than twice since we reported back for pre-season training. Am I losing patience? No not at all. You have to have plenty of patience with Adel. I always have. I get on well with him. Heâs a real talent I just need him playing. âI know nothing about that [AC Milan]. The first thing he needs to do is get fit to play for QPR.â Redknapp has been impressed by West Hamâs campaign so far and feels they wonât have any worries about the drop. He said: âThey have bought good players in, strikers with pace. They are a stronger squad and have a good manager. âI donât see West Ham being in a relegation battle. They wonât be down there. They look a decent team and will be a mid-table side.â
I think we have quality midfielders and have no worries there. Up front we are pinning our hopes on Charlie staying fit. I have a real concern about our defence. Isla and Ferdinand look like major weaknesses, the jury is out on Caulker. I think we have enough to stay up.
Hes always ready with excuses and have we really dropped 20 points out of 24 because of injured, not fit players?!......... Apart from 2nd halfs against Hull, Sunderland and Saints we have been very poor and clueless most of the time. Last weeks first half was embarrassingly bad again until OBZ made a difference and showed we need an experienced forward. Ive been away this week so dont know whether anybody has posted this but our support was S*** last week with hardly any singing with a resignation of defeat almost before the game. Our performance in the first half matched the supports lethargy and this is down to 2 years of boring football under a boring, dinosaur of a Manager who needs to go asap (and I have said this before end of last season when he should have stepped down).
It's also down to the idiotic decision to make the Loft End a Family enclosure.....Who the **** signed that off?!
