It wasn't because he was back - but a lot of the things that were said. A huge loss to the forum - one of the nicest guys you could come across.
Dick van Dyke's Disco Dungarees was the most fantastic illustrator we've had. He left because of Ackers, but never came back.
There are two Charlton-related phrases that I find utterly ridiculous. The first is "George Tucadean is a good footballer". The second is "I am not posting because of Ackers". I have heard it so many times on the 3 Charlton forums. Grow a pair, FFS. We are all grown men. If you don't like his posts, don't read 'em.
Too right, Vol. JA is Charlton to the core. I can't understand why anyone would be offended or annoyed by him.
There were quite a few who said they wouldn't post because of Ackers, but when Ackers was removed from the forum they didn't return. Maybe they used him as an excuse, I don't know. I've always stayed out of the Ackers debate, but I wonder why they put so much pressure on the mods? I had no objection to his posts, but was worried by all those threatening to leave because of him. As it happened they left anyway.
Ackers knows his stuff on Charlton, he just struggles to put it across. Ignore the rest of his stuff on UFOs and JFK etc...you know what is coming, so don't read it.
Its a hard one to be fair he is harmless heart in the right place, but just goes into internet forum overdrive, and i think that is what people dont like, if a page has 50 posts per page and 48 are his in the last 10 minites it does put people off, and also pushes good conversations of the front page into page 2 or 3 where no one bothers to look. You expect current and interesting threads to be prominate on the front page. Anyone buy the book ?
Sad to read that Addick4Life has defected from this esteemed site to ITTV, citing too much negativity on 'ere. That is a bit like moving from Iceland to Barbados because you don't like warm weather.
Shockin, juss shockin. I had a look but couldn't find him. It's disappointing to lose him, but if he only wants to read positive postings about Charlton good luck to him in his search.
He has posted on the Bob Peeters & young players threads. A sad loss as his pre match previews were good. Who will fill the breach ? Can the remorseless flow of defections from this site be halted ? Who will be next The bookies are offering 1/2 that typical is the next defection to ITTV.
