QPR keeper hoping for âfriendly receptionâ from West Ham fans on Upton Park return 17:46 02 October 2014 Brad Pinard Former West Ham goalkeeper Rob Green is hoping he gets a good reception from Hammers fans as he returns with QPR this Sunday Green was criticised heavily for leaving Upton Park, rejecting a new contract, and moving to Loftus Road after helping the club return to the top flight. West Ham have since gone from strength to strength whereas Green became the Râs number two behind Julio Cesar and was relegated to the Championship. Now back between the sticks and in the top flight, the former England number one is looking forward to going back to east London. The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Bobby Zamora and manager Harry Redknapp are also returning to the club they once served so well and Green is hoping all of them get a good reception. âIt should be good,â Green told the clubâs official site. âIâve not been back. I had six great years there and loved every minute of it. âIâve moved on to a new challenge now and Iâm sure the day I walked out was the day they moved on also. âI will be one of a number of players going back to West Ham and hopefully we will get friendly receptions. Iâm sure Rio will be looking forward to it too.â
FFS!! It's not a ****ing reunion!! Concentrate on trying to win the game instead of pontificating about "going back" etc.
Perhaps they could give Green a presentation before the game. We could lose 4 nil and he could saywhat a wonderful day it was.
Another reason to play McCarthy and Clint or Ned, and let Rio and Robert do their waving from the Bench. Come to think of it Arry likes waving to his old support, so why not take a day off so you can concentrate on that Boss, and let Hoddle run the whole show this weekend. He needs a bit of practice.
