Seemed as if the first time we were able to retain possession as far as the edge of their box, we scored. They've looked much better, running at a different, faster speed. On the other hand, we could have scored another couple. We're unable to retain possession against their press, but when we can, we're creating quick, dangerous chances. They should have scored at least one. We're playing on the counter more because we're losing the midfield battle than as part of a plan--unlike vs. Arsenal, I think.
Reasonable half. We look shaky at the back, Chriches is far from looking a safe CB right now. Dier is going to be a very good CB once he moves back in there though. No nonsense in defence and can handle the ball too. Bentaleb has improved a little bit more since the goal. Paulinho hasn't been very effective at all. I feel a little sorry for him because he's had to shuffle from wide right, to the middle and out to the left throughout the half, but I'd rather see Lennon in his place and sticking to a wide position. Stambouli is still impressing me, he looks very confident on the ball but does need to improve on some aspects of his game today.
Not much style in our play in the first half but it was good enough. Besiktas came out all guns blazing and put us on the back foot but they tired themselves out after 15-20 minutes and resorted to hoofing balls over the top. After that it was pretty much all us, bar one chance they should've scored. Brilliant strike from Kane and some neat play at times. Considering it was 10 changes outfield I'm quite pleased with how things have gone so far, reckon we should work on keeping the ball and frustrating them in the second half but we don't really have the team out for that so maybe just keep looking to push forward and get Townsend into the game more.
He's still upset that Andros is the best commentating Townsend. Bono can **** off too, tax dodging ****.
We know from the Goons that Besitkas won't lie down at 1-0, far from it. Either the back four and CM wake up, or Spurs better make it 2-0.
"Bono can f** off too, tax dodging c**t." Given he is an Ireland denizen, he has more right than Google.
Maybe he's taken a bang to the head? Or done a badge? Bentaleb showing a little inexperience with that booking. We're getting too many recently, for some reason.
"Shame he does his in The Netherlands then, eh?" Oh does he ?? The tax regime there is ok (the management company I would have eventually used in 2008 minimised the tax to 30% of earnings) .
"U2 pay something like 4% or something." WTF !!?? Glad I have never contributed to their bank balances by buying any of their dirge.
