Best missed tackle....Chopper Harris on George Best the night he scored sgainst Chelsea with is goal started on from the half way line if I can remember correctly....
I'll always be grateful to him for what he did for us, if he hadn't stepped in that could well have been an indefinite number of years in obscurity. It doesn't mean I have to like him though. I admire some aspects of him but I don't like the bloke one little bit. I have to say that if you think that being sneered at is a justification for trying to break someone's leg then we're not on the same page. Would you still think if it was justified if it was Kompany on Rooney? Would you say that Rooney deserved what he got?
Yeah, if Rooney had the audacity to call Roy Keane a cheat, and imply that he was feigning injury, I'd expect Rooney to take the brunt of it. Having said that, Rooney would probably have the common sense to apologise, hold his hands up and say "I thought he was cheating, he wasn't, he was genuinely injured, I'm sorry". Meyler stamped on Januzaj on purpose last season, didn't apologise and for that very reason, I would love it if Januzaj (not that he's that type of player) two footed Meyler through his knees/ankle and ended his career on the pitch. I think men are accountable for their actions in all walks of life, there's no pre-determined guideline for equality here; there's no requirement for the retaliation to be of equal measure.
So if someone intentionally knocked your pint out of your hand then you'd be justified in picking it up and glassing them with it, because retaliation doesn't have to be of equal measure?
If somebody intentionally pushed my pint over out of spite/jealousy, chances are I'd retaliate by sticking them straight in a guillotine vice until they were unconscious on the floor. If somebody done it by accident, I wouldn't even ask them to buy me another. Your logic seems to fit your argument, but you're leaving out pivotal circumstances to make me look like I justify mindless violence... that's not the case.
The problem with that argument is that I believe Gazza has always enjoyed men fondling his balls .... ... if he'd admit it he'd be a much more contented person.
