That is brilliant. If he was even partially adequate, I'd hire him for his name. #labnamefun Yeah, they do pay better, but the work is more narrow in scope so you have less freedom in your research. Plus, in general (not always, though), the work quality tends to suffer, mostly due to tighter deadlines.
Has anyone seen The Shield, House of Cards, or Top of the Lake? They are all on Netflix so may watch them. Peaky Blinders tonight 9pm BBC 2 you'd be daft to miss it.
Not seen any of them but IMDB ratings are... The Shield - 8.8 House of Cards - 9.1 Top of the Lake - 7.6 ...so must be alright.
Top of the Lake, Excellent but slow. Never seen the Shield. House of Cards is supposed to be really good, can't say myself as don't have Netflix Peaky Blinders Also been watching The 100, just finished, Very Lord of the Flies meets Lost. Just my kind of thing
IMDB can be dodgy when it comes to TV series. Just about to watch....... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1980929/ Looks good.
Can't say I noticed with the first and last but HoCs had been rated by over 147k people so must be a decent guide
I know what you mean but I just find that long running TV progs can be something down to the individual, some people hate GOT but the ratings would suggest it's brilliant. Think I explained what I mean?
Yeah, I understand what you mean. I've tried to watch a few TV programmes that have high ratings but struggled to get into them. For example, The Wire as a great rating and I've not heard a bad word about it but its simply not my kind of thing. I've just watched all three episodes of Cilla. At the risk of sounding a bit "funny", I thought it was very good, definitely enjoyed it
That's a shame, because it is the greatest TV show that has ever been, and most likely will ever be, made.
the wire is great but there are large parts that can put lads off. I felt season one and two prob were awesome. when they did the school thing i almost felt it dull. I did feel there were then parts of that seaosn which were great. The last season was a bit wierd in places. It couldn't gone on for more seasons or moved to another city with fresh cast etc. awesome early shows, anyone watching tyrant on fox?
the original house of cards was great and if you've a guy like kevin spacey who can give the same to camera looks and such you've gotta say its got a chance to be good Game of thrones is piss poor in parts. It feels stripped of color at times. I've liked it less and less each season.
Tried to watch it a few times, furthest I've got is the end of the first episode I realise I'd might get into it more if I persisted a bit more but I usually find something else to watch and leave it. As you've probably noticed, I'm on Lost ATM which I think is great (although I'm still in season two too)
you do have to get past the technology divide as in effect the wire is virtually stone age with guys using pay phones. it is kind of funny to see it first like that.
I agree, GOT is hyped, it's good and as a shallow spectacle of a programme very good but not at the level of some better TV. I might give Game of Cards a go. Just about to watch Peaky Blinders, very excited.
Just watched s2e7 of Lost, very good episode where it does a quick scan of the 49 days the smaller group (that didn't appear until the second season) had on the island up to meeting some of the original group. Found that much better as it was fast, lots of info and to the point rather than the usual dragged out stuff. #pointlessdiscussionwithmyself
