Ozil vs Coutinho vs Silva

I remember this debate a while back when Coutinho was crowned the king of the playmakers.

He was working hard, threading through some amazing balls to suarez and co and was pretty much the unsung hero (well compared to sturridge suarez and sterling).

He's recently hit a rocky patch in form and work ethic so do liverpool fans still consider him a better playmaker to ozil (to be fair a few of you did say Ozil was better).

For me Silva is by far the best playmaker out of the three followed by Ozil and then Coutinho.

Considering Coutinho had the summer off do you think he had a purple patch before, The running of Suarez/Sturridge and Sterling made it easy for him to pull off wonder passes or he's just in a bit of bad form at the moment?

 

Just a bad patch imo, he'll come good again and we ave to consider he's still fairly young.

 

If I had to rate the three then:

Silva
Coutinho
Ozil

 

Think he'll be far more effective again when he can do his through balls to a striker who likes to run off the shoulder of the defender

 

Really? I'd take Ozil over Coutinho in a shot, Coutinho is a mess at the moment. He only ever plays 60 bloody minutes and even last season faded when it really mattered. He only makes his sublime passes when he has time on the ball, which you get heaps of in Serie A, but no such luxury in the PL

 

I never did rate Ozil. Whilst this is to date his best spell in the UK, it's still not sparkling. OK Coutinho is having a bad run of form but he has the talent, he's young and he will come again (class and all that!).

 

No one ever put him ahead of silva who is by far and away the better.

Also I think at the time people we're saying Ozil is the better player but Cout was just in better form

 

I'd rather have Silva... but we don't!

Coutinho has his uses. I especially think in European games he will be more useful than in the PL.

 

I don't think that Ozil is actually a better player than Coutinho when both are playing well

 

doesn't matter which one of the 3 we have, still cant score for ****.

Silva all day for me, Coutinho is playing in a team that is low in confidence, Ozil has at least got players in front of him who can score and they are playing good football, but personally i havent seen much to justify the price tag yet, sanchez now dif story, class.

I think it's embarrassing to even contemplate putting Coutinho in the same box as Silva and Ozil tbh. I'm a fan of Coutinho but he's simply not on their level.

 

Exactly.

He's done nothing in the game to be worthy of the comparison with either of those two as yet.

It's like me saying Barkley is better than Silva, he's not proved anything over a decent timespan yet and therefore the suggestion would be bobbins

 

Has Couts signed that contract he was supposed to sign way back in the summer?

I think most think Ozil is poor because Wenger plays him out of position. He's been brilliant when played as the number ten.

 

Of course it's not embarassing to put Coutinho in the same bracket. If you want to see embarrassing then re-visit the vid of Ozil's performance last season at Anfield!!

So far this season Coutinho hasn't been able to re-find his form but he still shows that he knows what to do whereas Ozil did not last season and only occasionally this. In short Ozil flatters to deceive and always has done.
