Idiots moaning abuot the money we have spent so far...

I dont get it. Why do people seem to be summarising and giving their conclusions on our transfer activity when there is still 8 weeks to go?? Morons.

So what, we have a net spend which is very low, but its not about the money you spend, it is about the player you bring in!! I have to say I am positive about the players we have brought in so far, regardles of there fee (or apparent lack of it).

Boumsong £8m - ****
Luque £10m - Flop
Owen £17.5m- Money grabbing, lazy, bin dipping twat
Hugo Viana £9m - never settled.
+ a lot more.

I would much rather build a sqaud the way we are without breaking the bank for anyone, than to chuck money away like we have in the past on the above mentioned players.

Dont forget the high fees being paid at the moment are for the cream of the Premier League (henderson excluded (roberry))

Jones, de gea, young, nasri. Could we attract them anyway? I think not. So lets be realistic and not just use the fact that so far we have not outlayed a fortune on a player to have another go at Ashley. I am not his biggest fan but the hating is getting boring now!!!

To be honest I think people get a little too hung up on money spent. I couldn't care if we end up in profit again this window as long as the squad is improved. That being said sometimes you do have to spend to get the sort of quality you want.

Who's hung up on money? We were told Ashley would spend the £35M from the Mandy sale and I expect him to spend all of it now!! Regardless of the fact the window only opened today. Why is there not a queue of players waiting to come and sign for us for big fees and huge wages? Afterall this is the Toon it's what we do! We played in the Champions League you know! Therefore we should take the club to the verge of bankruptcy to get back there. Ashley's a twat, investing all that money to get us out of debt, putting a clear financial plan in place so we don't end up in that debt ridden situation again. What a ****ing liberty, Cockney ****!

 

Haha this is what I mean, I do feel it is the minority who think like that but unfortunately they're the sort that SSN pick up outside the ground at 1 o'clock on a Tuesday.

Thats not a bad idea, I mean who doesn't want money to be spent, but the fact is we've signed 3 players (4 if you include Abeid) and the transfer window has only just opened, last year our first signing wasn't until about the 5th of July and it was.....

I'm not saying Hooray for Ashley, I'm just saying we could be in worse states. If Fat Freddie was still about I'm fairly certain we'd be the Portsmouth of the North.

I slightly agree. I think it's not just about the money we spend, but i'd like to see some quality signings, players that are proven top quality, not just cheap foreign "bargains", that we hope will be a success.

 

I agree entirely, some people on here would actually be happier if we'd paid 5m for Marveaux and Ba as well.

 

Exactly, that is entirely my point. If we had of spent £15m on bringing in the signings we have the people moaning about lack of spends would be jumping around like a dog with two dicks.

 

You make two points:

1. There is a lot of transfer window left

2. People who are concerned about the net spend to date are, therefore, morons

The first point is valid and useful to keep in mind at all times.

The second one is not. Ashley has done one or two things which could cause a toon supporter to doubt his intentions. If his intentions are to strip the £35 m out of the club, that would be a valid matter for concern. The degree of spending to date is consistent with, though not conclusive proof of, an intention to strip the funds out of the club. Being concerned on this point is not moronic.
