Jonjo Shelvey in the England squad <doh>

Shelvey's average rating this season from whoscored.com:

    Played 6
    Scored 1
    Assists 0
    Yellow Card: 3
    Total Shots: 7
    Passing Accuracy: 83.9
    Av Rating: 6.89

    Cattermole:

    Played 6
    Scored 1
    Assists 0
    Yellow Cards: 2
    Total Shots: 6
    Passing Accuracy: 86.4
    Av Rating: 7.1

So the only thing Shelvey is "better" than catts is the number of shots he's had. Although that also means that he needs more shots to score.

Shelvey has 3 yellow cards (should've been 4 after our game last week) and Catts has 2!

But I guess Cattermole is dirty and not as good at passing as Shelvey

Roy Hodgson giving yet another reason to hate the national side in this country

    No Pirlo.

I fear thhough, that if Catts did get a game for England, the rest of the team would hang him out to dry ie putting him in a position where getting a card was inevitable for any player. And as a result because its Catts, wouldn't get another chance agian because of this.

I've watched Shelvey a few times and he looks average at best. Was terrible against us - couldn't pass water and probably committed the worst foul of the game (which went completely unpunished) - he isn't half the player Cattermole is and I wouldn't swap them

Oh and Fabian Delph is even worse than Shelvey

I wonder if Liverpool go on to have a **** season like they have started, and Welbeck continues to play like he has been for Arsenal, where will all the people be who said the squad has to be built around Sturridge at the World Cup.

The England squad is a ****ing joke under that fat useless idiot, it doesn't matter who is in it, we all know who's gonna make the cut for the first 11.

They couldn't dominate a class of mixed infants, what a f**ing joke <doh>

In all serious Milner is about the most reliable, out of that lot, which says everything doesn't it?

I'd say the best 5 from that in formation would be Sterling, Henderson, Wilshere, Milner and Oxlade Chamberlain.

That's a pathetic midfield, minus Ox who I think is a very good player.

If I believed in Karma, this would be it, England being served up **** after playing Scholes on the LW then allowing him to retire without a fight as they had Super Fwank and Captain Hubcap.

We know he's better and deserves the call up, personally I couldn't give a f** about England, if he's not playing for that shower of s**t, he's not at risk of injury.

What really irks me, is when the lad puts a transfer request in to go to a club where the England gaffers actually notice his existence. We've seen it happen. The England setup is and has been for a long time detrimental to our football club, they drive players away. c**ts. I hope he gets the call up purely to improve our chances of holding onto one of the best midfielders we've had for a long time.

Hope someone gets a stat comparison bouncing about twitter.
