Well dog ****e. Enrique so rusty it's scary he's on. Ballotelli ****. Sterling too busy propping up Enrique. Markovic had two bright runs at the start then went back into the invisible shell. And our midfield...in terms of effort, productivity and creativity resembles that of Moyes United midfield last year...
Pretty much this. I think Brod believes a point would be a good result (which it would) and we're just going through the motions. Just hope we don't start getting deeper to hold on in the latter stages of the game.
Looking very disjointed - Moreno on for Enrique and Lallana on for Markovic, would suit me Both teams looking dull. Not sure why the commentators are ****ing over Basel, they're playing as bad as we are!
We aren't doing badly at all. Only conceded a handful of half chances and we've had some decent moves in the opposition box only for the final ball to let us down. We should be quite happy with this as an European away performance so far in my opinion, keeping it tight on the road is a must if you want to be successful in Europe.
If it ends 0-0 it's advantage Liverpool. They've only had one more shot than us and only two on target all 45 mins. This is away against who we think are our rivals- this is the breaker game if we can draw away from home... that's OK.
If we could string two ****ing passes together.... They're quick and the slow Enrique is on his own there. Best twenty from Balotelli in a Liverpool shirt, then he walks around and can't even be arsed getting back onside. Is he fit? Jack Pallance has missed at least one good chance from a set piece, and the defence, with gerrard, was get Slightly better than in the first 15-25 mins when it was a shambles. Manquillo looks excellent getting forward and finding space - then has no idea what to do with the ball, and the same could have been said about Stirling, who's competing with Coutinho to run into the most blind alleys. Markovic has stepped up from awful to mediocre, in fairness. There for BOTH sides, imo.
The result would be acceptable, the performance would not be. It's not like we're doing a Chelsea here and calmly seeing out a draw, Basel could easily be leading. And also let's not try and pretend this play style is a BR tactic, it's a gash performance and the players don't work together and for each other
Except they've been rubbish....and they're at home....that's why it's 0-0. Not because we are playing some kind of European defensive masterstroke....they've wandered between our lines and just been **** in our box....It's took no great effort for them to do so. If this was a one off I might be more optimistic but it's not.....we look like we don't give a **** once again and I can't evee tolerate that.....
Not at all. I actually like Markovic, and can see him becoming a very, very good player. I just think Lallana is more suited to this situation - by that I mean they don't have a great defence and Lallana could split them open more than Markovic.
I was taking the piss after the hate campaign against him. This as easily been his best game for us so far but I can understand you wanting to see Lallana's energy on the pitch too
