If 1p5quit ever get up with MM I am sure he will march them straight to the levels he managed with Wolves struggle, struggle drop sack! Adams is doing fine he has galvanised a team that went through hell last year got them playing a different style completely has brought in some decent signings and as much as I want us to go straight back up I am not even considering that possibility and hopefully we are not going to put the expectation in the way of all the other improvements gradual steps
And what would you expect any promoted side do, reach the top 5 or something?...................oh wait. Listen you show me a side that has got promoted and was comfortable in their 1st season and I will show you 10 that will struggle, whoever the manager is. the thing that is different than you boys, our board knows it will be a struggle but we won't let go of one of the best things to happen to our club, unlike you who got rid of the mastermind of your progression like some whore of the night.
personally i think expectations should be sky-high when you look at the quality and depth of our squad. it is comprehensively the best squad in this league and anything other than promotion would be a total **** up. so yes, gradual steps at this stage but lets make no bones about it - if we fail to go up this season our squad will be stripped of an awful lot of quality in the summer and we'll have blown our best chance, not only to bounce back but to bounce back and stay up as well.
he might have done - we'll never know and i don't really care - adams is our manager now. all that matters is that he gets us promoted and so far he's doing pretty well so can't really complain.
i missed warky's statement that dm highlights above. its absolute nonsense as usual. everyone knows that the disharmony was created, not so much by losing every week (which we weren't anyway) but by the manner of the approach to each individual game.
I was getting worried Supers, your OP - full of grammatically correct punctuation, use of capital letters in correct position, it's good to have you back to normal on this post!
i'm just lazy most of the time david. i can't be arsed to reach across with my little finger to the 'shift' key. if i wrote a whole post like this i'd imagine nobody could read the bugger
but like i say, it wasn't so much the losing that brought so much disharmony amongst city fans (though obviously nobody wants to lose) - it was the manner of the approach. some, like me, accepted it as part of our projected development as a club, others hated it and made that clear. it didn't work in the end - c'est la vie - but your argument that we'd all turn on adams simply because we lose games is nothing short of wild. last night our team were applauded off the field because they tried to win the game. there were boos for the officials as you'd expect under the circumstances.
We are not used to Allardyce Pulis anti football it works for you at the moment but when your cb is your main threat it must be horrible to watch..^^^Also what Supers said
As others have said the discontent was with the style of football as much as the results. When we lose like yesterday we can fall back on the fact we play attacking entertaining football under Adams. If you start losing games under MM however...
I'm really happy with our style of play thanks 23 and if you did your homework as I assume you did before posting you will know that our Midfielders and Strikers have scored all but one of our goals over the last 5 games!
