Why don't we just play the FIFA version:

The Qatari's are lead by the Sheikh (Don)
He has the right to bribe (convert) or force a disappearance.
Sepp Blatter is the goon, with the power to block the first attempt at outing the Sheikh through the power of overwhelming denial in face of evidence.
Michel Platini as the investigator, who can find out the roles of the FIFA committee members in order to influence their vote or eliminate a threat to the glorious Qatari bid.
The snitch is Chuck Blazer (started the investigation into Bin Hammam after he decided to run against Blatter) who changes the results of a FIFA investigation.

The FIFA committee members are the rest of us.
We have Michael Garcia (the FIFA investigator),
Then there is Bin-Hammam, who, while initially instrumental in bribing the FIFA committee to accept Qatar's bid, later fell afoul of Blatter and was banned for life from football. Certainly a disgruntled former employee with cause for attacking random sides and not being too pro-FIFA. (vigilante)
Not sure of the doctor but you all get the point.

The goal of the FIFA committee is to defeat Qatar's bid for the world cup, forcing it to be held exclusively on Merseyside, while the Qatari's goal is to host the World Cup and destroy football forever.

also i'll outline my proposed tactics for each round in game but in short...

I plan to vote a few times in day one to try and find a mafia or vampire or whatever it is and find some reasons to get 3/4 people up in a tie and see what happens.

Hell right now I'll say it... I'm quite happy pre-game to say... I don't know my role and its dangerous but if people want to agree a temporary day one voting block I'm up for that... as long its to get 3/4 up even if one is me.

I plan to delay voting as days do go on until we get a view established on things. That means I want to not jump on something but to see if i can put pressure on different folks and see the reaction. If i get a i'm voting for you and 2/3 pile on too... well thats suspicious.

some sat back til the last hour last game, i feel thats too long but you need time to apply pressure and see the result.

 

14! That's getting better! One more (or more) would be nice! Got several days left before game starts though so semi-confident we'll hit 15 mark again.
