Evening maclad.. Tell you what maclad your input is becoming a daily report that the LEP would do well to copy.. Yes have read about Matt Hill and he could probably now do a decent job at Div 1 level. I suspect that he may not be PB's No 1 on his leftback shopping list but Hill is a genuine left back and that is what we need. Dont know much about "Stephane Zubar" so I had better be having a look round for more info on this player..

There is plenty of talk about Mellor staying at PNE, with PB stating that he sees Mellor and Hume as our two main strikers this coming season. But I am far from convinced that Mellor wont end up at the Owls. I suspect that the stumbling block to the move is wages, and the Owls will not give Mellor what he has been on at Deepdale. There is now some talk that the Owls expect PNE to make up the shortfall by contributing part of the wages remaining on his PNE contract (12 months left). I know that PB is bigging up the pairing of Mellor and Hume but suspect that given the choice he would prefer Mellor to go or PB is trying to put pressure on ML for him to stay. It is obvious to me that whether PB wants Mellor to stay or not the club (TH/ML) want him off the payroll. So then Northenders first of all "do we want Mellor to stay" and if the answer is yes, how do you feel if he doesn't stay and PNE contribute to his wages by paying part of what is left on his PNE contract. In other words PNE could in effect be paying for Mellor to score goals for another team playing in the same division as we are. Just a thought of course, maybe something to stir the emotions on this boring close season....so far... It would seem that SSL's transfer to Leicester is likely to take place in the very near future, reports suggest that a figure has been agreed (£1.2m maybe more with add ons) a successful medical and agreed personal terms will see the deal completed. I don't expect any problem over personal terms as Leicester seem to have dosh to splash around.
You beat me to the Ledge news Plumbs. As for us paying part of Mellors wages we did that when he was on loan. If the Owls want him they should stump up the cash
It would gall me to see us paying part of the wage of a striker who could posssibly score against us. Either they sign him and he leaves with no cost to us or he stays n scores a hat trick against them I for one think he will score goals again this season ,in this division, and I'd rather they were for us not against us
I agree with you finneyfan... It's all about money again isn't, I get the feeling that Mellor wants to go the Owls or another club in the championship. If he stays with us and puts his mind to it I am sure he will score goals in this division. Bit of a worry though wondering if his heart is still in it at Deepdale, particularly if he wants to leave. I would be most annoyed if he goes somewhere else (the Owls) and PNE have to contribute to his wages. It's about time that thing's started to move on at Deepdale now that pre season training has started, PB needs new signings in as quickly as possible then he can work on fitness levels/team formation/tactics ready for the start of the season. The clock is ticking..
Heard about this player a few weeks ago, can't recall where I saw reference to him but I remember mentioning it to a friend at the time. PNE was mentioned at the same time. ..
Afternoon my Lord... Looks very much like SSL is on his way to the Foxes according to our local rag the LEP. £1.2million is the figure mentioned but not sure if that includes any ad-dons or not. I hope not as personaly I think that £1.2million is undervalued on todays prices. Hope he does well for you and helps you achieve promotion. Have a good season.. Northenders have seen mentioned today that Grayson (Leeds) is after Lonners at a bargain price, and supposedly Turner is training with PNE..
