If They reintroduced Terracing do you think would that increase the current capacity?

Another Hypothetical Question......If they reintroduced Terracing say in the Northam end and possibly in parts of the chapel. (For the away fans perhaps). Do you think it would increase capacity? If so by how much. The sports minister has promised a rethink on this perhaps something along the German lines. Looking at the Northam end for me it would increase capacity by around 1000 possibly a bit more, chapel just behind the goal Maybe another 500? Whats your view?

I'm pretty sure that if standing is reintroduced then clubs will be allowed no more people in those areas than they could fit in with seating.

Hmm you may be right. However if you remember the Dell when they introduced seating it actually cut our official capacity by half as near as dam it to argue. So based on that and adding a little more for safety I thought the area would increase by about a third? Just a view................

Yeah, I thought the plan was to have seats in the terracing that would fold up, so the capacity would stay the same........it just allows people to stand in a much safer way than they do at the moment

You are a sceptic CBK...........A massive partition has gone into the government regarding this. My contacts tell me they are looking into it with open mind so you never know.......

If it is introduced it should be one section only, which I believe is the suggestion.

It's NEVER going to happen. Makes sense in lower leagues, but not the top two divisions.

Club's don't want it, because it will cost a lot of money to remodel existing stands and they couldn't get that money back via ticket sales.

Police don't want it because they know the terracing part will attract all the wannabees. Who won't use common sense and spread out evenly on the terracing, but will bundle together as near as they can to the away fans.

As much as I loved standing on terracing when I was younger, it's had it's time and we all move forward. The Govt are just trying to appear popular, they won't sanction terracing as it goes against the Justice Taylor Hillsborough report, which I believe became the basis of the act of parliament. So the Hillsbrough families and safety groups would challenge it, probably legally.

    It's NOT going to happen.

That sounds painful. No doubt Mr Clegg will be on the receiving end.

Blimey! I am impressed you have contacts in the Government? No wonder you disapprove of my left wing views.

As it happens it is true......... Although have nothing to Add.
As for your left wing views, it was a difference of opinion on the item that you posted at the time. I would not discuss politics in general on a Forum like this. What ever the views expressed. That and religion are no-No's for me in regards to discussion Forums.

Have to agree Beddy. A couple of times have had to remind myself this is a football forum so mustn't get dragged in.

Worry about filling your ground first, then worry about increased capacity.

Do you remember when we were in League 1 and Bournemouth and Brighton used to come on our boards and get offended about something that was nothing to do with them? Basically because they had chips on their shoulders. Thought we'd left 50% of that behind us. Behold we have a Cherries replacement.
