What do we think about this? What we need? Will City blow us out of the water? Will he just earn a better deal?

We are more likely to sell to them rather than you.

    Why? Because of the money?

arsenal are a selling club, if they're not selling to the highest bidder, they're not doing their job right.

Prob because Wenger doesn't want to make you stronger. We have always been more likely to sell to them rather than you in the past.

That was in the past though. As much as we like to deny it we have to regard City as title contenders and rivals. Making them stronger is almost as bad as making us stronger.

He has gone on record to say it though. I'm still sure he doesn't rate City as highly as united.

It's a bit of a double edged sword for Arsene. On one hand he doesn't want to lose more ground on United and on the other he doesn't want be overtaken by City or the rest of the chasing pack.

If you're selling, Arsene, choose your destiny.

The word is that City, in their desperation to sign any decent player, have offered £180k per week to Nasri, but that he wants to sign for you guys at a mere £120k per week.

Either way, he's leaving Arsenal, and going to at least one major competitor, and that suits me fine <ok>

True, he tried to do that with clichy but he refused. Be funny if Nasri signs a new contract next week after all this!

Funny, but not surprising. So much bullshit going round that's just players aiming for better deals

Whoever he sells to he is making them stronger. He would be foolish to dismiss City because arguably they are now a better side than Arsenal. He needs to do all he can to keep hold of Nasri or at least sell him abroad otherwise Arsenal will well and truly be a selling club.

Gotta agree there. Surely Wenger must now realise that Utd are a level above Arsenal and have been for the past five years. Whereas City have only just passed Arsenal, and thus should be the immediate target for Arsenal to get back in front of again. Selling to City runs the risk of creating a big three of Utd, Chelsea and City, leaving Arsenal stuck fighting Liverpool and Spurs for fourth place next season.

I can assure you if he has ambition he wont be going City. They are a throw away club who where careers will not be made.

Either leave england or join United if winning and being the best is what you want.

I think he is more concerned with aiming high and trying to prevent the current best team in England getting further away from us than squabbling over 3rd and 4th place with City, something I agree with. Besides they are likely to offer more money for him than you. On another note why are in you in for Nasri anyway? Doesn't seem to fit in with your formation unless he is on the wing, but you have enough players there already don't you?

I'd asssume he'll be the 'much needed' creative central midfielder we hear so much about. He certainly isn't needed as a wide player.
I'm not exactly jumping about at the thought of having him, I have never rated him whilst at Arsenal but that was as a wide player. He might be good as a CM but I think we've plenty of creation, what we really need is CM enforcer, a Keane, Robson, Ince type player.

This story seems to be building some credence so it could happen, I see no reason at all why he'd choose City apart from the obvious massive contract. Anyone thinking of City need only look at the likes of Milner, where top players are turned to **** in the blink of a season.

I dont like Nasri and dont want him at United, he`s way too French(moany, mouthy and arrogant) for me.He is a good player though and his best form last season was when Fabregas was injured and he took his position as playmaker, he played the best Football of his career in England to date, though that form dipped alarmingly when he was returned to the wing.

So he certainly fits an area we need improvement in but I really hope we look elsewhere.A question to United fans, What do you think of Heinze or Ince? Why?because thats the kind of person Nasri is, willing to ditch his Club and team-mates to go play for their rivals, double my money(Arsenal fans I`m sure will be wondering what he has done to deserve this) or I`m off!Goodbye and good riddance Samir, I for one hope I dont have to look at your whingy, perplexed, surrender monkey features again.

****er is going to end up signing for us now after that.
