Fourteen years ago today Luis Boa Morte scored after only 15 seconds against Bolton. "Jean Tigana's side set their stall out from the off as Bolton midfielder Anthony Barness lost the ball from the kick-off and Lee Clark latched onto it before racing into the box. His shot deflected off Mark Fish and Boa Morte fired at Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen with the rebound falling to Boa Morte, who scored from close range." We went on to win 2-0 in what was our 9th successive First Division victory that season.
I recall Alan "Sniffer" Clarke scoring a quick goal against Nottingham Forest at the Cottage in the 1968 season. I am sure it was in the first minute, but I am not sure if it was as quick as 15 seconds - any Fulham historians know if it was as quick as Boa's?
According to this http://www.fulhamfc.com/history/timeline/1995 Rory Hamill scored after only 7 seconds against Mansfield on 2nd January 1995. I always liked Rory Hamill, it was a shame that he seemed to lose his way a bit and never delivered on his early promise.
I also remember Darren Freeman scoring a brilliant first minute goal in an autoglass trophy (or whatever it was called that season) game the year after the Micky Adams promotion season. I had taken a mate to the game, who stood with his jaw hanging open. I tried to tell him that we regularly scored goals of that quality. I was gutted when it wasn't on the end-of-season goals video. Yes, kids, we bought goals videos in those days, not DVDs. Ask your parents.
His goal was recorded as 30 seconds Fred. Wish you hadn't brought that up though - not a good year for the Club. Poor old Bobby Robson brought in during the season to try and repair the damage done by that pillock Vic Buckingham. And the youngsters think we're going through a rough time now .. !!
I remember Nick Cusack getting a first minute goal in our promotion season from the bottom division, think it was at Rochdale possibly. I used to be so good at remembering these things reminds me I'm not as young as I once was!!!
