That's how I read it as well, Treble. Basel are a tough team at home, but not so much away, so the Real result was expected in a way. A draw would be good away, but I'd like a win just to be on the safe side. Having said that, Basel winning would not be a massive surprise, but would hurt our chances of reaching the knock out stages. Massive game, really. Looking forward to it. P.S. Got a Swiss mate who lives in Basel and is a huge FC Basel fan. He's e-mailed me saying he's going to the game and wished LFC all the best. Decent bloke. Jammy git, though, he lives right next to the stadium.
Draw. As much as I'd like to win, I can't imagine we'll boom-boom them in and see Basel Brushed aside. Away a draw would be acceptable... lose and... well... I'm going to kick some random dogs on the street and push an old woman or two in-front of a bus. Maybe tell a few children that father Christmas isn't real. Suspect 2nd in the group between Basel and ourselves will be close. A draw away from home is acceptable- as long as we beat them at Anfield. A loss and we'll probably be in the bloody UEFA cup!
You've got 3 points on the board, a draw away to Basel is a good result imo. You know the real bitch in all this is having that second Real Madrid game away at Bernabeu. If it had been at Anfield, then I would have fancied you to go through comfortably with just a draw needed in your last game. As it is you'll probably still go through. But I can see it coming down to the last game against Basel at Anfield with a win needed.
Totti scores for Roma to make it 1-1. Nani starts for Sporting Lisbon against Chelsea, the game is on sky sports 5 right now.
PSG 2-1 up against Barcelona. I love the high pressing from Barca but I look at their once great midfielders now and they're on the wane. If Messi wasn't playing, you wouldn't know where the threat was in that side.
PSG 3-2 up against Barca. They went 3-1 up and deservedly so, then let in a stupid goal inside a couple of minutes. PSG should have had this game wrapped up, but knowing Barca the jammy sods they'll get a result.
Are City complying with new UEFA noise abatement laws, or is there a reason for the lack of atmosphere?
Will never forget being there for the 7-1 against Roma in Q/F. Mrs weren't too pleased when we arrived, it were our wedding anniversary! Happy days...
Pelligrini is a nice guy, very difficult to dislike him despite him being the City manager, but I do think he's relatively clueless.
The English press/public have long had an obsession about insisting that the current England number 1 is world class. Hart is by no means world class. Neither was Seaman. Going back to my younger days, I never thought the 80's Peter Shilton was anything exceptional but he was hailed as possibly the best keeper in the world.
I don't mind disagreeing about Seaman and Shilton (or Southall) but all those were down to earth, well grounded and didn't have their head stuck up their arse like Hart. He could quite easily be at a mid-table club and nobody would bat an eyelid at him.
