I'm not sure of your point either Chazz, Pompey is a fan owned club, it was bought using £2.3m raised by £1k donations along with £500k put in by the 11 presidents(which now seems to have increased to £1.7m according to that article), what point are you making?

I think he is pointing out the 11 presidents own 49% of the football club (I can quote a telegraph article if necessary), which means the whole club isn't 100% owned by the fans as your previous quote stated. I've never seen it specified anywhere that the presidents are fans either, so i think he was just been a bit pedantic.

As far as I'm aware, all the presidents are local businessmen who are long standing Pompey fans, hence the question.

So, the fans own 51%. Which is the situation in Germany whose model of fan ownership we are so often told is the one to aim for. Unfortunately we won't see it here, along with safe standing, having a drink whilst watching the game and a host of other things which makes the "match day experience" in Germany preferable to the one here.
