Slightly hypothetical thread but it will be interesting to see who people feel the real problem at NUFC is.

The way I see it, NUFC will never amount to anything as long as Ashley is owner. The best we can hope for is to occassionally make a break into the top 10.

THAT BEING SAID, there are certain things one cannot blame Ashley for and which he does not impede upon.

    1) There is nothing stopping us from playing attacking, forward thinking football.
    2) There is nothing stopping us from having a go in the cups. Ashley may not be bothered about them, but that doesn't mean he tells Pardew to pick crap teams.
    3) There is no reason why we should be quite as bad as we are, on paper we are a mid table team and no worse.
    4) There is no reason why our most technically gifted players should be forced out of the club for peanuts.
    5) There is no reason why we should have to listen to false promises, excuses and general BS week in week out, including being blamed ourselves for the team conceding late goals...

In reality, Ashley leaving would surely mean the end of Pardew as any new oner would want to get fans on side with a manager we could back, but hypothetically if one were to leave and one were to stay, who would you choose?

I'd rather see Pardew leave than Ashley. For all the fat man's faults there's no guarantee we'd get an owner with more ambition/money to spend.

As per Pulp, if I absolutely had to choose I'd keep the fat man. With him there, we are stable, we could be bankrolled a bit more, he could get an appetite to invest, he could help the club go a bit further forward if the wind blew a certain way. There's the misplaced sense of hope that I don't get with the manager.

With Pardew, there's no hope. No hope we'll get any better, no hope we'll be more attractive to watch, and so on. Pardew, for me, has just run his course and the petrol tank of hope is flashing "E".

That's only in an either or situation. I am under no illusion that our skinflint lack of ambition is far from ideal and Piers Morgan is right - if he's only interested in advertising, he should fck off and do is some other way and take Pardew with him.

I couldn't even begin to make a choice. I'd love both out for better versions. We are not guaranteed to get better should either leave!

Mike Ashley. Guys doesn't give a toss. The comments the other day showed it all. Pardew has his faults but can't help feeling that he has been treat poorly by Ashley.

I can't bring myself to have any emotion of sympathy for Pardew after the way he has treat some people, including HBA and the Newcastle fans.

I have said Ashley. He is the real problem here. The way I see it is if we got a new owner he would probably see sense and sack Pardew anyway

Pardew. If I have to look and listen to the c**t any longer I may well slip into some sort of diabetic coma and never recover.

    But... in fantasy land...

    Which is better...

World class players managed by an average manager...

Or ****e players managed by a world class coach?

If we're asking the question, then the best case scenario of the two is clearly keeping Pardew. Worst case scenario, would you rather Joe Kinnear returned, or Ken Bates bought the club?

It's all about relativism, but if we're being realistic, Ashley's strategy has been holding back the team much more than Pardew.

    Voted Pardew.

Ashley has his faults but one plus these days is financial stability. With Pardew staying we risk financial instability and Pardew still unable to pick a team full of round pegs in round holes, unable to man manage players, unable to get a team/club to play a pattern with variations when required, unable to make good substitutions etc.

Yes we could get worse but that also applies to new owners a la Tan.

Prefer both to go and be replaced with better but that's not the vote.

The issue is Pardew. Plain and simple!

A decent manager and this squad and he would safely be top ten each season.

Yes MA has his faults but providing financial stability has saved this club from doing a Leeds/Pompey etc. Sadly his current inaction may still lead us down this route!

Not a fan of Pardew but I suspect there is plenty of information we are not aware of. Remember what Keegan said in May.

I don't care if Mike Ashley has cut his manhood off and stolen his wife. This is a man who blames the fans for being too loud just to pass the buck from himself.

My concern is that when Ashley eventually sells up, he sells it to a Venky's or a Sulaiman Al-Fahim type figure. Owners like Sheikh Mansour or Abramovich are few and far between. I am no Ashley fan at all............. but the guy has deep pockets if required. When we got relegated last time we could have easily gone into free fall like Leeds for example. Yes he seldom dips into his pockets and uses us as 'cheap' advertising for his tat, but I don't think that he will 'let' us go down without a fight. I just think that he doesn't like being 'told' what to do. These successful types are funny like that. Pardew will be going, its just a matter of time. Plus Ashley is waiting for JFK to return from his two weeks jollies in Magaluf!!

Back to the original question, its 'Pards' all the way for me. Clueless ****er!!!

As long as Ashley is in control of this club all we will ever know is Mediocrity.
We will forever be 'Also Rans' making up the numbers in a league for the Group of Elite Rich Clubs, which we are not part of.

It doesn't matter who the Manager is, Pardew for now, or whichever poor soul replaces him will suffer the same fate, and probably two years down the line, we'd be calling for his head as well.

Ashley is the cause, Pardew is just one of the symptom of the disease called MIKE ASHLEY.

    No option for both!

4 league wins from 25,must be worst record EVER

Ashley has eye on Rangers but they are 3/4 years off CL if that,no second place in Scotland for a long, long time and league winners have to qualify with 2 or 3 games.

Fat **** shot himself in the foot.

Hotel booked for derby but do I seriously want to put myself through that and ruin my Christmas?
