Not true with Sanchez in the team. He takes a cracking direct free-kick. Scored one the other day, and I like his technique. Puts the right amount of pace on the ball. Now he just needs to improve his all round play.
There is an article on goal.com that claims Sanchez was dropped for Ox for the Villa and Spuds game because Sanchez was slowing the play down and holding onto the ball for too long. The article claims that it's simply training ground discussion and work to turn that around. But it is an area that Sanchez needs to improve on. He's lightening quick, can go past players, is strong and has a great finish. He needs to get himself into these positions to bring out the best, not be dallying around passing sideways on the edge of the area.
Strange that hes so fast yet slows your play down. La liga hang over maybe? Well barcelona hangover. Hes exactly the sort of player the premier league is made for though so theres no question he wont be one of the leagues best players.
I think it's more to do with the way the whole team are playing at the moment. We need to speed up the play and get balls in behind the defence instead of passing the ball to death on the edge of the area.
We had the same problem until di maria. I would have expected sanchez would provide a similar outlet to get behind the defence. A lot is being made of the first 6 games. The fact is the whole league has started slowly excuding chelsea. The world cup will no doubt be a factor but the simple fact that theres about 3 points seperating almost top to bottom means, nothings close to being decided.
Good shout. Same for Swansea, Palace, W Brom and Villa, wonder how many of their fans expected them to be where they are right now.....
spot on . It seems like no one wants to ever pull the trigger . People moan about the Pods apparent lack of interest but , he was never guilty of taking one more pass. whooom ! ......av it !
Loving your avatar...**** the Scots (especially on their wedding night) and if your son ever dares bring a boyfriend home, shove him out the window
yeah i thought it was appropriate for my " ahem " , contributions to their referendum thread , soapy feckers !
It's strange that as soon as world class players come to us, they have to 'improve' once they start playing Wengerball...
Very true It takes a special kind of skill to have that much of the ball while doing nothing with it and only passing sideways...
Top tier club based on what? Last season? If that's the case then Liverpool should be included. Facts are both Man United and Man City have won the league a few times since Chelsea last won it. Wanna talk other cups if you want to look back to your Europa win then FA Cup holders Arsenal should be in that list with Swansea and Wigan
Top team based on doing either (or both) of: - Regularly challenging for the premier league (ie. more than once in a blue moon eg. Liverpool last season) - Regularly getting far in the CL City and Chelsea fit at least one of those categories each. Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton do not fit either. United haven't fitted either since Fergie left, but look most likely to reach one (or both of) out of the chasing pack. Chelsea and City are quite clearly the two best teams in the country.
Then the description of top team must change week by week. To make these judgements you have to look at several years. It will be a little more time without success before Utd slip down for me. There is a top 3, yourselves and Liverpool just behind. Us and Everton trying to get up there but lacking resources of the teams above. Then the rest (could probably divide them into 2 groups - mid table and relegation threatened- but I can't be arsed).
Not really. United are not a top team right now and haven't been for 18 months. This hasn't happened in the last week. But they are throwing hundreds of millions at their team and if it continues at this rate they'll do a City and just buy their way back into being one of the best in the country/Europe.
I think there aren't many managers who wouldn't win most games if they could simply go out and spend £150m ever transfer window... even overrated ones like LVG and AW who play absurd tactics. If United pay over the odds to entice players like Hummels, Subotic, Benatia, Godin, Chiellini, Bender etc in January or Summer 2015 then they'll be an obscene force. And why wouldn't they pay obscene odds if they can (which they can) and they want to (it seems they want to after this summer)?
