I was at the game. That's a term you will never be able to use when talking about Manchester United you plastic tosser.
So according to the gospel of a dipper, you have to go to the match to support the team? What utter deluded crap. So, lets get down to some facts , rather than scouse drivel. My very first trip to any football ground was to United when I was eight years old. That had me hooked, and although I went to other grounds during school and being an apprentice, I could only go to United if someone offered me a lift. When I was on decent wages, and had my own transport, the trips to the hallowed ground were a lot more regular. Then I ended up with a mortgage, and the trips became less regular as the finances for "extras" dried up. Later, as wages well exceeded domestic outgoings, plus giving up the nicotine weed, I ended up buying 2 season tickets at the Stretford End. For 12 years I kept the tickets, firstly attending with my daughter, who moved away, then with my son, who then attended Uni, and only managing to make the odd game, so Mrs. Bonnet took up the ticket. Then came ill health for Mrs. B, to such a point that it was simply no longer viable to keep the tickets, and so endeth the Old Trafford trips. Am I any less a supporter because I no longer attend the games ? Was I a plastic during my teens when quite simply I could not get there? Was I a part time supporter when household running costs left no disposable income? Of course not, any any one who accuses me of not being a true supporter is talking bollocks.
Of course you were plastic during your teens, Wrexham and Chester were/are your nearest league teams and could have had the money you spent on a club 50 miles away. Seem to remember you being embarrassed about the same issue on bbc 606, just because you were born in a stable it doesn't make you a horse.
Back to mid table oblivion. Didn't take too long for normal service to be resumed. 120 mil on mediocre players and 13th position, so much fro the wisdom of Brenda
He sure did Matth, and the gullible dippers were under the impression that sweet little Luis was going to remain loyal! Yet even in January, he was plotting a move to sunny Spain, for more miney and the chance to play for a team that was likely to win things, rather than the one year over achievers in dipperland. Loyalty? Bet he is laughing all the way to the bank and the big villa with private pool, Porsche, and all the other trappings
It's far easier to ignore the dense twat Tobes. Ignoring him makes him livid, and he comes up with all sorts of wild accusations. A classic example of a YSB in turmoil
Not really, if the prick wants to refer to me as a bastard and wants to slate not just the club but the place itself and its people off in almost every post he makes he can expect some back. Haven't really got a problem with the others and yeah EVERY club including LFC has fans that don't attend games. Hope that clears things up for you Tobes, but your friend already knew I was getting at him.
I dont understand the logic here. Weararedbonnet said he got hooked on United as a kid aged 8. How does going Chester during his teens change anything about him going to United? And had he switched to Chester after supporting United wouldnt that make him a plastic? You could argue that he supports his local club but I don't know who decided this rule. And where this idea that unless you only support your local club you can't be a true supporter, when the reality is that IF clubs like Liverpool and United had only had local support to rely on over tge last 50 years, chances are they'd be where Everton are or City were before the sugar daddies took over. And THAT is the real hypocrisy. From what weararedbonnet has described, he sounds like he's supported the club like a true fan over the course of his life.
The irony is that the RS are desperately trying to increase their global fan base. They have a large number of so called plastics in the uk and over the world yet their fans constantly denigrate united fans as plastics. And They have fewer match going fans than United Plus on here their board are full of the so called plastics. Most of their most vocal contributors including the mods live outside Merseyside
The thing is Treble, you can't even knock it into that dumb YSB who thinks hes smart having a go at me, yet all he proves is that he your typical "every one else is wrong but me" dipper. My first game at United was when my uncle took me. He was originally from Hazel Grove, and married my dad's sister, but was a United fanatic. Looking back, I was probably his excuse to go back to United after Munich, so that was my very first trip. After that, I did go occasionally when he took me, or with a mates dad, but it was a fair old distance in those days, with no M6. And to straighten another Page Moss Krappite lie, I never supported Chester. At secondary school, it was a choice between Chester and Wrexham. I chose Wrexham, purely on the basis that most of my mates were Wrexham supporters, and it was the cheaper of the two grounds to get to. At least that way I got to see "live" football. but it was poor compensation compared to a trip to Old Trafford In my late teens, both on 2 wheels and 4, I went to United whenever i could afford it, which on apprentice wages wasn't that often. In my 20's with Mrs B in tow, again we both went whenever we could afford it. But the reality was with a new mortgage and household bills, football quite often had to take a back seat. But, as life progresses, you end up with more expendable income, so the trips beacme more often, and eventually I managed to get 2 season tickets for the Stretford End, which I would still have, but Mrs. B isn't too good health wise these days, so I had to give them up, and rely on MUTV. Do I still miss the games? of course I do, nothing beats the atmosphere of a live game. Do I miss the hassle of getting there, or waiting at the tram station, in the pouring rain on a November night? Not one bit. So there we go with some honest facts of my time being a United fan. As for that mouthy dipper, learn the facts before you make wild accusations about something you know sod all about. I have been a United fan for virtually all my life, through good times and bad. Even if, and I hope i am wrong on this, even if United go through another 2 decades of winning nothing, as we did in the 70's and 80's, it still will not change my passion for the club. Being accused as a plastic is a bit rich coming from a deluded and envious dipper, but there we go, what ever floats his boat.
