I said in a previous link when you asked for 20 players/teams that it meant they would all be playing against a prem team and you said no. So why now do you need twice as many teams as you said? Or am I being outstandingly thick?
As I understand it mate, when the suggestion was first made there was no guarantee it would take off so as BiB said, it was done on a first come, first served basis. As there are only 20 Prem teams in real time, each league could only have 20 teams but due to the interest on our board, another league had to be created. How any relegation/promotion or even a playoff will work at the end of the season I couldn't say. Thai should be able to give a better explaination when he's online. I'm just his update bitch due to the time difference between here and Thailand
Thanks H As mentioned, there was no reason for me to think there would be so much interest in this effort and you Bluebirds have blown me away with your support for this fun league, so a huge thank you to you all When I first put this idea for the world to see I was not thinking about 2 division for any one board so will need to give some thought on exactly how I am going to do that. I suspect it will be a case of - 3 up and 3 down, as per the Premier League. ALL managers can change their team at the end of the current season but I think it needs to be done in a way that the top manager in Div 1 gets first choice of team, then 2nd, 3rd etc. There will be no playoffs, there will be no 'real time' fixtures available to even consider trying to make that work by the time this league finishes.
I'm still not getting this and it is really pissing me off because I'm not normally this stupid. In Thai's original post he implied that the fun league could only have 20 teams because there are only 20 prem clubs and each chosen team would play each prem team home and away in a generated league programme. If that is the case then if someone pcks a prem side they will just get the real results against all the other prem teams, but as they cannot play themselves they will be 2 games short of everyone else. If it doesn't work like that and the 20 teams we picked play each other twice what is the relevance of the Premier League?
You have missed something important out. You can pick any of the 92 football league teams BUT because PL teams only play 38 league matches this league can only have 38 matches. In this league all teams play each other 2 times, just like the real leagues. - Does that make sense now? Might also point out that 38 scores from say Cardiff City games will be counted - not the 46 they actually play. Which 38? Not sure yet, might drop the week where there are International breaks when PL & League 1 teams do not play for example. We had to make it 20 teams (38 games) as some people obviously would choose a PL team Also, because it is not just PL teams that are picked you will get games such as Man Utd v Crawley Town The Man Utd score from their REAL game will be added for that game (lets say they draw 1 - 1 with Arsenal in the real PL) The Crawley Town score from their REAL game will be added for that game (lets say they beat Aldershot 3 - 1 in the real L2) The score in this league would be Man Utd 1 - 3 Crawley Town Get it?
Xsnaggle - Prem clubs are noted because they play less so this league can only have the amount of games the prem play. You picked Carlisle so you will play Brighton, Swindon, Arsenal and other teams selected by other players in your league.
I'll play too as I won't have to do anything, you have to be in it to win it. Accrington Stanley for me please.
