Unable to go to Ashton Gate on Friday evening, I listened on Radio Bristol to another winning performance for the revitalised "Bris". Their fans are enjoying watching rugby at their new home and it is clear that the players are also revelling in the pitch and atmosphere.
Promotion is the aim and Bris will have to overcome the one bogy that they have, which is to win the (stupid and unnecessary) play-offs at the end of the season.

The adrenalin started flowing as soon as I woke up on Saturday and just could not wait to get on my way to see City beat MK Dons. I forecast a 3-2 win on both competitions here so what a result for me and the lads.

I really enjoyed the game with it's ebb and flow changing from one side to another. I thought that Wade Elliott was having one of his quieter games until a friend nearby pointed out that he was "looking after" Delli Ali, the latest wonderkid of League One. And what a good job he did.

Yet when he goofed big time with the weak back pass, I did wonder whether SC would sub him. Thank goodness that I am not City's manager because, as we all know, our captain just pulled his chest out and amazingly scored the winner. That is why I voted for him as MOM. He did not let his mistake get to him and not only got the winner but also by doing so, will have sent a very powerful message to all the young lads in the team that what is gone is gone and the only way is forward.

Because I lived in Portugal at the time, I missed most of the 2007 promotion. So I don't know what the crowd was like then, but the noise is getting louder and more sustained from a City crowd that are clearly liking the renaissance brought by SC.

So another three points and another step closer to the ultimate goal. I listened to Mourinho on MOD Saturday evening and he was asked about being top of the Prem. He said that being top at end of September means nothing. But if he had a choice to be three points clear or three points behind the leaders, he'd take three points clear any day.

The weekend rounded off by Bristol Women beating Man City to ensure their status in the Premier league next season and Europe's golfers again brushing aside the colonialists from across the pond.

    Roll on next Saturday!

In Portugal I paid a monthly fee approx £4 for City I-Player and got all home and away commentaries on the internet. I still use this if radio signal breaks up.
Here in Frome, I can pick up Radio Bristol on 94.90FM using a portable radio with built in aerial. I put it in an upstairs window facing Northwest, is toward Bristol.
An external FM aerial would give much better reception.

I can (just) get 94.9 but it's always Yeovil when I try.
    95.5 is always Rovers.
    Internet is always jazz!!

For home or away games? I always get away commentaries on 94.90 but we do live on the western edge of Frome and quite high up.

Many years ago I lived in Shrewsbury and on a good day could get Radio Bristol. I remember listening to our away play off game in the 80's when Carl Shutt scored.

Home games are on medium wave, away games are on FM as far as I know.
