Newcastle United player Cheick Tiote recently took a second wife in a ceremony in his native Ivory Coast this month - enraging his mistress, with whom he has a love child.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who earns £45,000 a week, reportedly wed Laeticia Doukrou after playing for his national team against Cameroon earlier this month, despite already being married to first wife Madah, 25.
Tiote lives with Madah in a £1.5million mansion in Ponteland, a village near Newcastle, with their two children.
Pictures have emerged that claim to show footballer Cheick Tiote with his second wife Laeticia Doukrou. The Newcastle United midfielder already has a wife whom he lives with in a village just outside Newcastle
Now he has been ditched by his mistress Nikki Mpofu, the mother of his one-year-old, who was furious when she discovered he had married for a second time, it was said.
The 33-year-old Zimbabwean ended her three-year affair with the footballer, claiming he had promised to make her his wife, reports The Sun.

'He's used me like a mop. He's just a pig.'

Tiote's first wife has reportedly forgiven him for marrying another woman.
His agent confirmed to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle that he had married.
Jean Musampa said: 'I can say that he did get married and that it is his second marriage.
'This is nothing unusual. He is a Muslim.'
Newcastle United was not available for comment.
Polygamy was abolished in the Ivory Coast in 1964.
Despite this, and the threat of six months to three years in prison or a fine, polygamy in west Africa is a very common practice.
It tends to be more prevalent among the animist (a form of spiritualism) and the Muslim communities.
Tiote received interest from Lokomotiv Moscow during the summer and was thought to be keen on a move to Russia.
He remained on Tyneside after Lokomotiv failed to make an acceptable offer but his contract set to expire in 2016.

To be fair, if he went up to a bloke and said "I'm taking your Mrs, there's not many would argue"

We gave Colo permission, but deep down we have always known that Tiote doesn't need permission.

Personally laughed my arse off at this quote...

'He's used me like a mop. He's just a pig.'

I'm imagining Tiote holding his wife upside down cleaning the floor....

Personally, I don't think it's anyone elses business. It's all too easy for us in this country to judge him as a pig, but in his culture it's not seen as a bad or irregular thing.

All we can really hope is that he still supports and looks after his children and their mothers. When it comes to love affairs, that's no one else's business.

Reading through the comment I was convinced you were going to say affair at the end.

Have to say I was disappointed when you said business.

Neither is stoning for adultery, death for apostasy, cutting thieves' hands off and so on. Tradition/culture as an excuse cuts no ice with me.
