Exactly. It's cost the man himself most of his entire lifes work and the tax payer no doubt has shelled out even more, and for what? He touched me tit in the mid 90's and I was a bit miffed?
No it would normally have ended with a knee to the groin !! Worse that the person waited how many years before making the accusation !
Not everyone would give a knee to the the groin. In that situation a lot would freeze and not react at all like that. A person like this in a position of power would also add to the uncertainty of the reaction. What does it matter when the assault was made. Some of you blokes don't half talk a load of stuff and nonsense.
What Travis did of course had little to do with sexual pleasure. It was about humiliating the humble researcher in a corridor for about 20 seconds knowing that she wouldn't dare complain and if she did it wouldn't get anywhere or affect him at all. It's about aggression not sex.
Au contraire young Patches. Sex crimes are predominantly about power. Most of these crimes are committed by men. Just facts I'm afraid.
I think you're preaching to the converted. Jokes apart, nobody really thinks what he did was in any way accetable. He was a prick, he is a prick, he was never going to get banged up, but his life has been ruined and I doubt anyone cares.
You said "so many men". That's dismissing the majority of men on the planet as sex offenders who take advantage of women. Would you consider it sexist if I said that so many women are only interested in men because of money? I would. I don't know who this guy is, but I do despise all sex crimes and forms of domestic abuse. Funny how Hope Solo battering her nephew and half-sister didn't make the news. Ray Rice punched his wife in a lift and got permanently suspended, but Hope didn't. Not a sex crime but still shows the law's leniency on women and double standards regarding abuse cases.
What a load of bollox. If someone did that to my daughter I'd break the ****'s face and thank the judge for jailing the twat.
When I was 18 I left college and got a job in a wholesalers. Majority of the staff where female. I was very shy and nervous. They always use make sexual jokes and innuendos. One of them grabbed me arse in full view of everyone including management and nothing was ever done. If it was the other way round I'd of be done for sexual harassment and sexual assault. It seems to be socially acceptable for women to do things men can't in these types of situations.
As we were talking about sexual offences I was referring to most men in that context not men in general. What are you basing your statement about women, money and men? If its based on hard facts then ok but if not then it is questionable.
I was just playing devil's advocate. The word "many" was a bit unfair on your part. "Many" usually means a lot or the majority. I'd say male sex offenders are in the minority and not the majority, and I wouldn't even say it's a lot when you compare the billions of men on the planet with sex offenders. I just think it was a little unfair to say "so many men" as it implies an overwhelming majority. What context were you referring to if it wasn't men in general? Men on TV? Men at the BBC? It would make more sense if you clarified the context.
