... saw it differently to me Gangsta ... Nuge had the most shots as far as I saw it and what typifies him was a great run in the first half from left to right across the box getting himself a clear shooting chance before ballooning it high and wide ... Vardy by contrast gets much closer to the target on average and it is more often good defending than a poor finish if he fails to find the net ...

... Vardy is also more likely to draw a penalty and him and Ulloa together seem to carry more potential threat for me than either with Nuge ... Vardy's main failing is that he doesn't always get his head up (as shown in second half when he could have put Nuge clean through on goal) a lower league tendency that he has to work on in the Prem where instant vision is required ... now all that said do you think Nuge would have beaten Speroni one-on-one right now? ... that's the real problem, a misfiring striker in the Prem can cost you games, we need to be more clinical all round ..

Have to say FF, didn't see anything from Ulloa in this match as an attacking force - not entirely his fault, although he did often get too caught up in defence duties which meant he was nowhere to be seen when we countered. The chances that really stand out to me were the one in which Vardy turned his man rather than hitting it first time (giving the keeper time to position himself) and the shot Vardy lashed across the box (that Nuge tried to get on the end of but it was travelling too fast). Nuge created a half chance at one point when he ran across the edge of the box (which is the one I think you're referring too), but there were no options for him (no-one came to support him) and the defence tracked him well, so in could only shoot from distance. Vardy's first was definitely our best chance of the game (notwithstanding what for me was a stonewall penalty not given).

I'm not saying that I'd pick Nuge before Ulloa or Vardy (I wouldn't, and I've said elsewhere that I'd prefer us not to player three up front away from home, with Nugent sacrificed) but, on this occasion, I don't think he did a lot wrong and I think it's unfair that fans are picking him out when everyone was below par. Fans all too often have a preconceived views of players, and pick them out for criticism when things go wrong, even when there were worse performers in reality.

All good points Gangsta - only comment I'd make in response was that Nuge's shot wasn't from distance - he was at the edge of the pen with a clear field of vision bar Speroni - he has to be hitting the target then - at least forcing the keeper into a save -Ulloa did have a quiet game - but mainly because of a lack of service - we didn't get to the by-line as we had in previous games and thereby crossing the ball where he could attack it ... but we will have a few days like this - our home form will define our season and so far that has been brilliant.

Agreed. I always said in the Championship that I was never surprised when the home team won. The same goes double in the Prem. A victory against Man U followed by a defeat to Palace may seem at odds, but when taking into account the massive difference playing at home makes, it makes perfect sense. The only away winners yesterday in the Prem were Man City.

With this in mind then, we really need a result against Burnley.

I think Burnley will be in trouble if they don't start winning soon, lets hope that we can get some points off of them before they turn their luck around.

Would hate to see Dyche sacked though, as i think they massively overachieved last season because of him.
