7th or 8th, who will be above us? Saints, Swansea and Everton? Doubt it.

Agree with Sidney. There's no evidence that we are better than everton, swansea and southampton, and to dismiss out of hand a suggestion that we might be competing with them for league positions this year is fantasy.

I can easily see Everton finishing above us - again! Saints and Swansea, too early to tell.

I thought that Pochettino got a lot right yesterday and I think that his decision to play on the counter will have surprised Wenger, too.
It's not something that we've seen him do before and the Goons seemed to really struggle with it when we broke quickly.
Better final ball selection would've seen us well ahead by half-time, even though we were miles behind on possession.
It was slightly reminiscent of our loss to West Brom or Liverpool's to Villa.

RWAEB's comments about our manager seemingly having more than one string to his bow ring true to me.
We were told that he only had one way of doing things, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
It'll be interesting to see if he keeps mixing things up as he gets a better idea of what our squad members are capable of.
Being able to pick horses for courses would be very, very useful.

Only real downsides for me were possible injuries, especially the one to Rose.
He's had a positive start to the campaign and Davies has looked pretty fragile so far, so I think we'd miss him.
His booking summed up Oliver's evening for me, especially following our goal. It was like we'd offended him by taking the lead and he booked everyone in sight til they equalised.
Bloody awful performance by him and yet Wenger still ended up slagging him off, as he always does when they don't get the win.

The clearest example of poor refereeing was his booking for Chadli, though. Absolutely laughable.
Gerrard made exactly the same gesture under very similar circumstances and there was no suggestion of a booking.
    Utter bias.

Presumably he'd have sent Gerrard off, as he made the gesture with both hands, rather than one. <doh>
Sums up the main problem with officials in this country. Absolutely no consistency or common sense.
He's only a Premier League select ref because of his dad, anyway. Needs to be fast tracked back down a few levels.

No one should have had a yellow.

But.... Chadli's was at the Arsenal fans. Gerrard's was at his own Liverpool fans. That is the difference.

Referees like Policemen, Politicians and numerous other 'officials' attract people who like to control others and tell them what to do. These are by nature the wrong kind of people to do these jobs. You can spot them from a young age, it's my ball! etc and I am a prefect!

Hence my support for BAE and Adebayor.

We can agree on this one, Spurf. The only problem I have is when their "individuality" starts to interfere with the harmony of the team.

Parking wardens!! Failed old bill half of them. They love their little bit of power.

Wilshere is probably the player that I dislike the most in today's Premier League.
His attitude is appalling, he constantly cheats, dives and moans, his off-field antics are ludicrous and he gets away with it all because he's an England squad regular, so the media go easy on him.
If a foreign player did half of the things that he does on a weekly basis, then they'd have a terrible reputation and the refs would treat them badly because of it.

What goes on at referee "school"? Are they taught the same rules or what?Or, once they get their certificate,do they think "I'm the boss and what I think goes"......?

Lesson One: If they're wearing a red shirt, it is not a dive.
Lesson Two: If they play for England, it is not a foul.

There have been reports about sports teams being more successful if they wear red.
The suggestion is that it has some impact upon the players involved, but I wonder if they've examined the influence on officials?

It doesn't involve a lot of research or analysis so far as English football is concerned does it?

No, but it doesn't appear to be specific to any country or sport.
Obviously the only rational response is to ban all teams that wear red, the bunch of cheats... <whistle>
