They didn't "deserve" to get anything from the game but after we scored and they, at last, started playing football, they could easily have snatched a point.

After Niko's most blatant of dives, I would have been devastated with a draw. Refs need to watch him, its all he looks for towards the end of the game. Lazy fat git.

In the past that type of team normally did do us out of what we deserved.

Overall, I thought they were pretty poor. On that showing, glad we didn't sign Caulker and as for Rio Ferdinand, stick to selling ****e urban streetwear "man".

Thanks. Saved me the bother of typing exactly that.
Or should I have just typed "this"?

Phil does a great job on TV considering he's so much in the shadow of his brother, and the mental tools he's blessed with. Not many lifeforms as primitive as him can even make sounds, let alone ones that sound like English so well done to Phil. I heard he gets a sticker with a smiley face on it if he says anything remotely sensible, and hes hoping to get his first one any day now

Not enough praise here for our first goal which I thought was absolutely brilliant : ) Fantastic backheel from Mane who played a blinder in his PL debut. He's going to cause some grief for the defences - starting with Spurs next week! Bertrands finish was worthy of a centre forward and he was stoked to get it which was great to see. We are scoring from the back on both left and right. Our midfielders are banging them in and Pelle is turning out to be signing of the season. His goal was fantastic but I am starting to love his play. His one-twos are so sharp and with the pace we have up front now its proving really hard to handle. Most of all I'm loving how much he is enjoying himself in a saints shirt. What a sweet start to the season. Great to put one over on redknapp too despite his gushing praise for saints int he build up and his missing Sandro whi did actually end up going missing. Seems like his mind games are better than his football tactics.

Utterly sublime skill from Pelle. Crikey, he's got an astonishing touch, completely leaving aside the caveat... for his size. Pretty much impossible to defend against. I mean, how do you tackle that..? :)

Yesterday's best goal in the PL, and there were a few contenders.

Oh cripes, do we have something in common today, aside from being members of the same football forum..? ;)

Just realised I've watched Pelle's goal at least 50 times. One could just pull up the chair, grab a coffee and a few sandwiches, and stare at it all day. :)

Great Saints win, we squandered so many chances though. When we play the big boys we will really need to take every chance we create. We still have a new team so the best is still to come. If only we hadn't thrown that game away against Liverpool. We were all over them. Again didn't take our chances!

Terrible cross from Long for the second goal! But that apart I thought he also did well when he came on. Very aggressive and won every header.

Three superb goals to be fair. I was pretty pissed off that we let them back in, but having seen Austin's goal on MOTD I have to applaud his effort. And Clyne's was a cracker too. I thought Mane had just done the back heel blindly, but again, watching it on MOTD it was obvious he'd seen Clyne's run and placed it in his path.
