No they can't do without. They take every supporter of whatever fanaticism, the same as every other club.
Fans leaving early today is an anomaly. People leave early every week. There were thousands of empty seats at minute 1.00 due to the price today. That's the main issue. You get your 85 minute rushers no matter what. People are in that unbreakable habit. You need the sods there in the first place. £50, you're having a laugh.
Disagree with you there, people leaving early has been going on for years. It's not a new phenomenon.
Fans leave early at every ground. I don't but that is my choice. At Newcastle last week there was a rush to the exists when we went 2-0 up. What sort of fans are they? In Hull City centre before the game, big football day, and in our pubs we have several Hull people wearing Liverpool shirts because they were on the telly. How embarrassing is that ? Are the people who have paid £50 and left early any worse then those in our own City who pass themselves off as scousers and don't go at all ?
It is a false construct to suggest that the number of people leaving early today was in any way the result of tickets being sold for £50. People used to leave early at Boothferry Park. (Usually those who brought their own flask of hot sweet tea and a nice blanket in West Stand seats.) By the way, if I had been able to get to Hull today I would have paid £50 without complaint. I know it's a lot of money, but if you go to see a production featuring the Northern Ballet, it will cost you a tenth of what it costs to see the Bolshoi.
I suspect that the majority of those that left early today, do so on a regular basis and probably won't have paid £50 because they're season pass holders.
Drove up and back in the Dolomite today leaving early would've made no difference the old bangers so old and slow I wouldn't have got back any quicker. Early walkers are ****s plus as their getting cheered out we all end up looking like tits. Sent the missus home from a home game against Boro early a few years back as she didn't appreciate the range of doing and descriptive words I was using to describe that ugly **** Wheater...
The removal of the clock from the big screens about 30 seconds before 19'04" clicked around was perhaps the most pathetic thing I've ever witnessed at a sporting event - and I saw the Doncaster Rovers tin-foil trophy display. Our club's administration is being run by lame-brained petulant children.
I assume it's because they're all rushing off so they don't miss the beginning of strictly come dancing. ****s.
Exactly, although it was nearly 45 years ago and there have been some late escapes since then but none as unlikely, which is why it sits so clearly in the memory.
I don't Leave early because I choose not to but I don't get why people are so critical, it can essentially mean 45 minutes less in the car or watch two minutes of the champions passing the ball about at the back. Some people come from a long way.
It is chaos getting out of the car parks,I was parked close to an exit near the Walton club but it still took an hour to get to the m62
