Not pretty, and maybe not entirely fair on Blackpool - but thanks for another 3 points and plenty of goals again Also useful that Forest failed to win
What more did you want from him by this point in the season. Lucky you're havin a laugh, you don't get to top of the championship by being lucky
Win win - great goal by Murphy, overall we were just better. Blackpool were just a team full of big units.
Still can't get it together first half. How long can we rely on second half performances? Adams needs to find out what's going on there. I guess we can't complain about the return of points but that has done nothing to ease my worries about this team.
Just back to the forum and I can't believe some people are fecking moaning ! We are top of the league FFS and I would remind people that it is the sign of a good team that wins (and away from home I might add), when not playing overly well. I'm happy if no-one else is
Finally! What is all this about it being harsh on Blackpool?!? We didn't turn up in the first half really but Blackpool were just as poor as we were so to say we deserved to go behind is absurd!
Sorry KIO. We agreed a lot last year about Hughton. But I'm just not convinced. I'm enjoying the points as they clock up, of course, but I am not convinced.
Even in the 2nd half, I didn't think we were much better other than the odd passing move and two moments of individual endeavour from Grabban and Murphy. Having said that, even at 1-0 down I was not too worried and reasonably confident City would not return with 0 points.
I'm not saying he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but its about time people gave Adams a break and just chilled out. Before the season started it was he's not experienced, not competent in the transfer market etc, etc. Then when we start getting results, are top of the table and with a better depth of quality in the squad than we had at the end of last season. It's we're lucky.
That makes 2 of us KIO what more can Adams and the team do other than score goals and win games? Great feeling being a Norwich fan...
I think if we're going to continue to play with both Jerome and Grabban, then Grabban needs to be starting in a wide left role, rather than centrally as a traditional striker. A lot of his best work came from cutting in from wide positions, and he was far more involved in the game that way. Meanwhile Wes is being played on the left and is having all his best moments in the middle of the pitch. Wes needs relieving of his left-hand side duties, and I think Johnson is good enough to fill in any gaps that open up if Grabban isn't tracking back enough. Still think it's slightly too early to suggest starting Josh, but as a go-to substitute he's perfect for that type of game. Wouldn't mind seeing Lafferty come back in either if we're to revert to the more convincing-looking 4-2-3-1. Still, can't complain about the result and knowing there's more to come from the team is promising. I just hope we can start unlocking that potential from the off and really dominating games, being "comeback kings" is great but to me it means there's something wrong to begin with.
I don't believe it's luck, Adams subs makes a difference and to get back into games shows determination and hard work. But it would be nice if we wouldn't go a goal behind before we start playing lol. Wasn't convinced with NA but he's doing the job well so you have to give him some credit and if there's a time we lose a few games I hope there's not many who will get on his back. But anyway, top of the league, what's there to moan about?
Well lads, we're more or less a fifth of the way through the season, and thus far we seem to be doing alright. We are top of the league. Top of the league. Nice one Neil
Let's just leave team selection and tactics to the guy we appointed as manager, too many back seat drivers on here think they know better than Adams. Just enjoy being top of the league and winning games.
IMO, the first half was very even and City didn't play badly, but there seemed to be a spark missing. The bookings for BJ and AT didn't help, but Blackpool's quick out of the blocks goal was their only really good chance in the match. Fatigue seemed to be a factor for BJ and AT and city seemed to be slow to the ball at times. Time to rotate some players with two home games coming? Josh to start after that sharp performance and superb goal? That said, we're top of the league and 3 above Watford as well. Time to celebrate!
