Looking forward to the NLD. If we come out and attack them like we attacked City, then I could see us scoring plenty, but at other end we could also let in one or two with the way we are defending. Could be another 5-2.
I wouldn't be surprised at another 5-2. I think it will be a high energy game as the NLD always seems to be played at 100mph and both teams are always up for it. We have the potential to rip them apart if we attack them, but as you mention that soft centre seems to come back to haunt us again and again. Really looking forward to the game and although Rosicky had a mare against Soton, I'd be tempted to start him again as he always seems to play well in the NLD
Yep, they looked really good last night. I tipped them for a Euro spot last season and they would have got it if they hadn't imploded towards the end of last season. But for all the turmoil, losing players, a new chairman and new manager, they've come through it really well and look really strong again. There are a few Southampton fans on Five 5 who think they've got an upgrade on Pochettino with Koeman.
I think it says a lot that you consider someone who wants to do something about the racism and homophobia in football stadiums as "holier than thou". I'm accusing you of not giving a **** about racism because your attitude of passivity is the goddamn problem. People say "oh yeah, that's bad, we should do something" and then when it's pointed out that they could be doing something, they react like you're doing now ... excuses not to and hostility and weird insults. I want to do something about racism, so I must obviously never have been in a football stadium (ignoring that I've been to over 300 games in my life)? Yeah. Ask yourself why you feel the need to be lashing out like that without basis mate. This is the bottom line: if you see someone shouting racist chants at a footballer on the field, there is no ****ing excuse not to report it, full stop. That's the end of it.
Well you can **** off then Murray, because your making an accusation based on your condecending, presumtious and selective view of it.
1) You can report abuse by text so you dont need to find a steward. 2) I go to watch the match and chant, so unless its right near me how would I know where it came from? I would only report it if I knew for a fact who did it...I would never guess for fear of blaming an innocent person. 3) if I knew for a fact I woukd text the details so the racist prick was kicked out.
That all sounds reasonable enough. I wasn't aware that you could report abuse by text so that's a good pragmatic solution. Point 2 is exactly what I'm talking about though, there's no way you can know for sure what seat number somebody is sitting in unless you're in their row or very nearby, so getting up mid game or at HT to go and find a steward to say 'in that general direction' somebody was making racist comments, is impractical. It's a million miles from 'not giving a **** about racism'
As I said, there's no conceivable situation where the person shouting racist abuse is going to be rows away from everyone in the entire stadium. If enough people gave a **** about reporting, then there would be more chance of someone close enough to the abuse to identify who's doing it reporting it. At the moment, evidently people don't give a ****, because it's not getting reporting despite people being able to identify them. And the reason for that is pretty clear when you're coming up with excuses not to do it even if you knew who it was who was doing it, like your "can't get to a steward" bullshit. Nobody ever asked you to police an entire section of the goddamn stadium. You're the one who came up with that. But if you read back what you said, it sounds severely unlikely that you would go to the effort of reporting even if you were the one who was close enough to identify it. You just seem to be making excuse after excuse not to. And if you're legitimately saying that even if you were the one close enough to the racist abuse to identify it, and you wouldn't go and tell a steward ... then you evidently don't give a **** about racism. Nuff said. The texting thing isn't something I was aware of. Sounds like an excellent initiative, although it seems like it wouldn't be able to convey enough information to allow the police to get involved. Go back and read read this page when this conversation started and you'll find that one of the first things you said to me was "I don't think you go to many football matches if you think that". And that was about the second post into the conversation. So if we're talking about making accusations based on condescending, presumptuous views ... you can pretty much **** off, because you started the trend.
How many ****ing times do you need to be told the same thing ? I have endlessly repeated the same message to you that I would report it if I could identify the perpetrator. What I said (and try to take it on board this time) was that if it were happening 10-15 rows away and a steward wasn't within easy reach then it would be extremely difficult to report - and no I wouldn't get up, go hunting one out to say 'in that general direction' unless I could positively identify who it was. Your repeated refusal to get this into your head and contemptuous attempt to label me as a racist leads me to believe that you are deliberately trying to **** stir, so you can ****ing do one pal. This is the end of this conversation.
Right getting back to the football. We might think we have problems at the back, but Van Gaal has just come out and said that Utd have 1 fit CB for the game against West Ham For the amount of money they spent in the summer that is ****ing criminal.
Ok. Man U have enough attacking force to get them through their crap defence for one game, but they'll still never get anywhere near Top 4 unless they strengthen in January.
Liverpool bottled the lead against Everton who were dire today. Still they are a difficult team but they'd be disappointed to lose after being so dominant against a under par Everton. Song captains WHU tonight. Hope the Hammers smash United
